ZIMBABWE’S EXPORT EARNINGS SURGE 91% TO US$7.53 BILLION.
Zimbabwe’s export earnings nearly doubled in the first half of 2026, rising 90.7% to US$7.53 billion, from US$3.95 billion during the same period in 2025.
The surge was driven by the mining sector, whose earnings jumped 121.3% to US$6.21 billion. Gold led the growth, generating US$3.82 billion, up 176%, while platinum earnings rose 82.8% to US$1.46 billion.
Tobacco exports also performed strongly, increasing 23.5% to US$967.6 million.
The figures underline the growing contribution of Zimbabwe’s mineral exports, particularly gold, to foreign currency generation and overall export growth.
