I met Jesus at our Nation’s capital
He was wiping tears from his eyes
He never wanted no war and hate, so he cried like I cried
At the racists who divide
Using His name to justify
Their bigotry & white pride
Their violence of who deserves to live & die

i wasnt going to go on my campus ministry retreat and then i was told that agape is talking for like an hour and i signed up
arguably my pastor dude knows me too fucking well
so i do this thing where i only really listen to one artist at a time and i could have told spotify that but instead they had to give me the three artists ive listened to this year (@NoahKahan , then @ezrafurman , now @tmbg ) as all of my top five artists
all the process theology discourse today is reminding me of the time one of my friends learned about process theology and immediately went "wait, there's a name for this?? that's how i think about gd, okay"
@novelnaturae those ones are fun!!!
i think i have a soft spot for the mixture of like stories that are used for theme + moments of [ intentional repetition / increased speed / differentiated tone ] but i think that’s just bc it’s familiar
i explained to my pastor in detail the differences between how he and his best friend, my other pastor, preach but only with respect to speaking pattern, speed, and stories used outside of the passage
also ik i said familiar cadence to the first two pastors and what i mean by that is ~ these are similar preaching cadences to what i grew up around [lutheran, methodist, baptist]
