@phil_hk Yeah 😂 don’t expect all of those project to be materialised really..
3B/4B and EG are wildcards. Don’t know how big appetite Pouyanne has for EG.
Venus and Preowei probably more likely to go ahead (at some point?)
Still see Meren as a good fit for Total.
Lots of underlying positive news for Meren $mer.to in the recent week.
EG new oil gas legislation to stipulate exploration. (Meren 80% in block EG-18/31)

Drilling Orange Basin 3B/4B one step closer (Meren 18% in the block).

@AlaliQasem I’m not setting my expectations too high for any changes (wise from experience).
UK politicians have been ignoring the industry for several years now. The OGRL was supposed to be announced in the Spring Budget, but that was changed at the last minute..
North Sea producers like EnQuest #ENQ $ENQ.L Harbour Energy #HBR $HBR.L are making some money right now..
UK budget coming up. Keep an eye if there is any changes from the current Energy Profit Levy (EPL) to the drafted Oil and Gas Revenue Levy (OGRL).
These stocks will rally.
@thybead Yeah, to shame with the current taxation in UK. Both EnQuest and Harbour done a good job diversifying away, so will be good either way imo.
Nice option if things change tho.
@phil_hk Got lucky when I sold majority of my holding in Meren during the peak 2022. (In favor for EnQuest tho which underperformed for a long period..)
Results coming up and given weak performance I think they have some catching up to do. But yeah..best to prepare for rug pull 🤠
I’ve been adding to my long position in Meren Energy $mer.to
Dividend yield ~9,50%
- Nigerian exp.assets benefitting from new legislation.
- Total says FID Venus in Namibia coming in ”weeks” (heard that before tho..)
- Farm out opportunities in Equatorial Guinea
@Henrik115 Oil from their Magnus field is essentially one of the last component of “Brent” in the Brent Index (Brent, Forties, Oseberg, Ekofisk and Troll fields). Since 2023, Midland, Texas has also been included.
The latest physical ”Brent” bid prices I have seen was +$25.60/bbl..
@Henrik115 Great thread @AlaliQasem
Would also like to add the organic growth story.
Even before the Petronas acquisition, EnQuest has robust SEA growth opportunities and targeting 35k production by 2029-2030. After Petronas (and also the Cendramas PSC-award) this will only get better..
