I gave the opening keynote address at Geostatistical Congress in Ponta Delgada, Azores, Portugal this morning. Held once every 4 years, Geostatistical Congress is our olympics!

I shared the opportunities for geostatisticians in the AI revolution and encouraged students and early career professionals to stay involved in our community. It was a super cool honor and I never thought that I’d be on a volcanic island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean (at the intersection of the North American Plate, the Eurasian Plate and the African Plate).
