Sampled from Children of Nandi's "Meet Me in Zimbabwe," a fresh, slowed version of the song that I started working on in 1983 till 1985 in Ahrensburg, Schlewig-Holstein, in then West Germany. . We recorded it in Hamburg, and I produced and arranged it
@zenzele Kudala, long ago, there used to be a translator into siNdebele when a speaker addressed the audience in Shona if a rally or meeting was geld in Matebeleland or parts of Midlands. What happened?
After months of searching, I finally found a picture of Luke Bizeni Khumalo and Jean Khumalo. Khumalo who was the Headmaster at Thekwane high school was killed by "Dissidents" together with his wife in Nov 1985. #Asakhe ( picture colorized)

“I look over here, I look over there…”
Could this be the first Zimbabwean rap?
Themba Ndlovu’s iconic rap lines on ‘Meet me in Zimbabwe’ back in 1986.
(Sugar Hill Gang was clearly an inspiration then 😊)

39 years on. The song "Meet Me in Zimbabwe" has withstood the test of time. This makes me feel that the efforts I put into the composing, arranging, and producing of that song from its inception after my late wife Mama Jabu's sang the chorus to me in 1983.
#MeetMeInZimbabwe
It ain't over till it's over. I have some unfinished business. Music is a weapon to achieve universal peace and harmony among nations. The prevalence of decadence in the music business needs to be curbed. There's a dire need for lyrical content with substance.
SOUTH African-based Zimbabwean Musician Themba Ndlovu who is popular for the yesteryear hit song “Meet Me in Zimbabwe” is still going strong.

I bought this beautiful CD in London way back, and only opened it tonight.
It is called Children of Nandi.
Amazing music from the 1980s.
The main track is called Meet Me in Zimbabwe.
It was produced by husband and wife Themba Ndlovu and Bajabule Zikalala.
Promote local music!
It's glad honour to be remembered. It's been 37 years since we recorded this song. Jabu: May her soul continue to rest in power. 🌹🌱🌻Gone but not forgotten. ❤️
“Imi munosara nani ndaenda, pfungwa dzangu zvino dzafunga kure...”
The Children of Nandi: Themba Ndlovu and his wife, Bajabulile Zikalala. Sadly, she passed away in 2013
