On March 22, 1977, in Tucson, Arizona, escrow company owner Chuck Morgan left his home as usual, and then disappeared. Morgan was a potential witness in a state land fraud case involving a known organized crime boss. On March 25, three days later, Chuck stumbled back home at two in the morning.

Upon his return, he was rendered speechless due to his throat being coated with a hallucinogenic substance, which he revealed to his bewildered wife, warning that it could lead to either death or madness. He also confessed to being a U.S. Treasury agent.

Morgan's recovery spanned a week, but just two months after reappearing, he disappeared once more. Nine days later, his wife received an enigmatic call from an unidentified woman who assured her, "Chuck is safe. Ecclesiastics 12, 1 through 8."

A couple of days later, Morgan's lifeless body was located in the desert, a gunshot wound at the back of his head. Oddly, the weapon used was his own firearm. His death was ruled a suicide.

Further perplexing the situation, Morgan's vehicle near the crime scene held peculiar items, including ammo, weapons, a CB radio, and his tooth wrapped in a handkerchief. Attached to his underwear was a $2 bill featuring Spanish surnames and a local map.
