It's a miracle that I made it through my SSRI protracted withdrawal. Almost three years later and I'd say I'm about 90% healed.
There is hope for all of you suffering. ๐ซถ๐ผ
"Demonic level of terror".
Accurate description of what psychiatry calls "anxiety" from protracted withdrawal/brain injury from antidepressants/benzos.
Hard to believe unless you are one of the unfortunates that has lived experience.
Totally accurate.
People need to be afraid of SSRI'S. They need to know the dangers of taking them for longer than the 6-12 week research studies. They aren't harmless little pills that "fix" depression. They cause adverse effects, nervous system/physical dependence, meaning without the drugs the entire cns can't regulate normal bodily functions.
Do your own research. Don't blindly trust Doctors.
I always hear โI love my SSRI it helps me so much Iโm so happyโ - thatโs exactly what I thought the first 2 years of taking it. Felt like superwoman. Until it gradually morphed me into someone I did not recognize and I started losing my memory at 28 years old.
If a doctor said this medication can cause insomnia, weight gain, numbness, sexual problems, stomach upset, suicidal impulses and aggression, that some effects can be permanent and withdrawal symptoms can be crippling and irreversible, would you take it? What drug am I referring?
If only ssri's were as wonderful as some social media influencers (including prescribers) are touting.
There's never a mention of physical dependence, sexual dysfunction, emotional blunting, kindling, behavior changes, weight gain, akathisia and the myriad of other adverse responses.
Did your Doctor tell you?
