Walking along the sound in Duck, NC and doing some thinking on Iran … (as @mamapoly4 shops)….actually, she offered some of the following thoughts too (also as a former ops officer in NE)….Number one, deterrence does not work if your adversary does not believe you’re serious. Trump‘s bombast and bluster often times falls flat because he pulls back at the last minute, so adversaries actually don’t believe the threats. So it simply doesn’t work. Iran does not fear us. Number two, our allies are very confused and don’t believe us either. Witness Trump saying the Israelis too were behind this new pull back from military action, which of course is not true and probably gave Bibi a heart attack. Three, I don’t even know if we are sure of what our strategy is. So Trump‘s style of bombast, lack of real deterrence, confusing allies – perhaps we are even confused- the US national security apparatus does not have a strategy either. It’s obviously policy making by whim of one man, no interagency process. Finally, I think it’s worth noting that Trump‘s art of the deal often is when he tries to speak things into existence – saying things that obviously aren’t true over and over again to try to make them true. That just does not work in foreign policy and national security. More at 3 pm (new hit time) on @MSNOWNews . Back to watching my credit card get pummeled… there r very nice boutique stores here that my wife has conquered like a true Greek warrior! 😉
Very sad to hear this news. And it’s personal. Scott Pelley was the consummate professional in the 60 Minutes extraordinary years long coverage of Havana Syndrome (multiple episodes, relentless and indefatigable reporting, where they deservedly won an Emmy). He and the producers righteously drove the narrative of an awful govt coverup and need for accountability. The truth is what he and the team was after, and they slowly and painstakingly uncovered the govt malfeasance and betrayal. Because he cared for the CIA officers and others from the USG who were critically injured in the line of duty. His patience, care and compassion for the victims was deeply deeply appreciated. I spent many hours over two separate interview sessions with Scott and the team. It was emotional and grueling and took me a long time to recover. But it was worth it, given the importance of the subject. Scott is a true legend in journalism and we won’t ever forget his dedication to supporting those in need.
U.S. military personnel who say they have injuries from Havana Syndrome attacks want the government to acknowledge their sacrifice. https://t.co/YUWWeGXAtX

🚨BREAKING: The shutdown wasn’t a glitch—it was the plan.
As soon as the government shuts down, Trump’s allies like Russ Vought gain extraordinary power to terminate, restructure, and defund entire agencies without going through Congress.
That’s why they wanted it.
They’re not “negotiating,” they’re executing a purge.
Here is Donald Trump saying the president should always get the blame if there is a government shutdown because the problem starts from the top and the leader is the problem.
BREAKING: Federal investigators say they’ve found no link between Charlie Kirk’s shooter and any left-wing groups. PER NBC
So the shooter isn’t Antifa.
Isn’t a Democrat.
Isn’t even political.
And yet, millions were fed a lie that sparked national outrage.
