1) The @GOP have called to DEFUND the Department of Homeland Security which protects our borders.

2) The @GOP voted AGAINST the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which INCLUDED $430 million for Customs and Border Protection.

3) In April 2022, with the ending of Title 42, the @GOP voted AGAINST the Biden administration's request to increase funding for Customs and Border Protection for fiscal year 2023.

4) In November 2022, President Biden directed the Customs and Border Protection to DEPORT immigrants that posed a threat to the U.S — Texas Republicans took him to court declaring his directions "illegal."

5) The @GOP voted AGAINST Biden's FY23 Department of Homeland Security Appropriations bill which provided the Customs and Border Protection with $16.464 billion as well as $1.563 billion to address increased encounters at the Southwest Border.

6) January 3, 2023, @SpeakerJohnson told Jack Tapper that border patrol agents did NOT want President Biden's $14 billion emergency border funding bill.

7) January 4, 2023, Republican Representative @RepTroyNehls @TroyNehls told CNN - "Let me tell you, I'm not willing to do too damn much right now to help a Democrat and to help Joe Biden's approval rating. I will not help the Democrats try to improve this man's dismal approval ratings. I'm not going to do it. Why would I?"

8) January 26, 2023, on Fox News Laura Ingraham asked @HawleyMO @SenHawleyPress about Biden's border security proposal - “Senator, is this deal dead, effectively?”

Senator Josh Hawley answered - “I hope so. It should be. If it’s not dead yet it should be dead. There is absolutely no reason to agree to policies that would further enable Joe Biden.”

9) May 2023 - @HouseGOP passed debt limit legislation that would have essentially cut 22% to border security funding. Their bill would have cut CBP’s budget by $4 billion. Which would have resulted in the loss of 2,400 officers. It also meant over $640 million in border security technology would no longer be operational.

10) December 6, 2023, the @GOP @HouseGOP blocked President Biden's $106 billion package of wartime funding for Ukraine and Israel — which included $13.6 billion for border security.

11) January 24, 2024, Donald Trump pressured @SenateGOP to “kill” a bipartisan deal to secure the border because he doesn’t want President Biden to chalk up a win ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

12) February 7, 2024, @SenateGOP, at Donald Trump's request, BLOCKED the bipartisan border bill that THEIR OWN MEMBERS WROTE and introduced, and that Democrats and President Biden agreed to.

13) March 2024, Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Troy Miller detailed how millions of dollars have been spent on the most up-to-date high-tech scanners to spot fentanyl crossing the southern border, but @GOP members in Congress BLOCKED the approximately $300 million in supplemental funding request to have them installed.

14) May 23, 2024, the @GOP @SenateGOP, at Donald Trump's request, voted against the bipartisan border bill - FOR THE SECOND TIME - that their own members wrote and introduced, and that Democrats and President Biden agreed to.
