A depiction of the slave trade was staged on Juneteenth outside a fortress in Accra that once served as a hub for transporting slaves. Ghana has been hosting a conference there that aims to advance the UN resolution that declared slavery the 'gravest crime against humanity'.

“Those who come with wheat, millet, corn or milk, they are not helping us. Those who really want to help us can give us ploughs, tractors, fertilizer, insecticide, watering cans, drills, dams. That is how we would define food aid.”.
Thomas Sankara was a pan-African Marxist revolutionary and president of Burkina Faso. For him, food aid wasn't about living off charity.
Burkina Faso 🇧🇫, Mali 🇲🇱, and Niger 🇳🇪all members of the Alliance of Sahel States have announced their decision to leave the International Criminal Court, accusing it of bias against African nations.
Justice ministers from the three countries met in Niamey, Niger, this week to finalize the withdrawal and prepare the official notification.
They also plan to create a Sahel Criminal Court for Human Rights, likely based in Bamako, Mali, to address terrorism, organized crime, and human rights issues, emphasizing regional justice and sovereignty.
VENÂNCIO AND TIVANE FIRE THE COUNTRY IN SIGHT AND GO UNPUBLISHED
In a moment of national tension, marked by violent demonstrations, Venâncio Mondlane and Dinis Tivane appear as central figures, whether through direct or indirect encouragement. Mondlane's recent attempt to announce a suspension of demonstrations for three months was nothing more than a failure, as, in practice, the protests continue, demonstrating his lack of control over events.
I have always argued that Venâncio is not a true interlocutor of popular demonstrations. Everything he announces ends up happening in the opposite way. His call for a three-month truce actually resulted in three months of protests.
Meanwhile, the Government is moving forward with a serious and constructive dialogue, involving political parties duly represented in the Municipal and Provincial Assemblies and in the Assembly of the Republic. Given this scenario, the question arises: with what status could Mondlane be included in this debate? As a former losing candidate? Or as a citizen who, instead of seeking viable solutions, relies on populist discourses and promotes instability?
We must not transform violent demonstrations and disobedience to authorities into a passport for dialogue. Just remember Dinis Tivane's recent unsuccessful attempt to fabricate an attack to justify the chaos. The Mozambican people cannot be manipulated!
In the past, when he was a candidate, Mondlane had the opportunity to participate in serious political discussions, but he wasted this chance. Now, dialogue takes place between representative political parties. Mondlane has no party. Every time it has passed, it has generated conflicts, as in the recent case of Podemos.
There is no space for Venâncio Mondlane in the current political dialogue. If the debate is expanded to include all former defeated candidates since 1994, perhaps he could have a seat. Until then, we must allow the Government to work without interference!

TRANSPARENCY NOW: THE MOZAMBIC PEOPLE DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY FROM THE CDD
In the name of transparency and preserving the good name of the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (@CDD_Moz), we request the disclosure of this organization's accounting reports. It is essential that all information about financing, agreements, salaries, as well as the names of people and institutions benefiting from @CDD_Moz support be made public.
In recent times, the CDD has deviated from its original purpose, and its activities, previously hidden, are now evident. There are indications that this organization has become a financial arm of the opposition, financing actions that go beyond the scope of an ONG and directly interfere with the country's stability.
Since its founding, the @CDD_Moz operated within the normal standards of a civil society organization. Under the leadership of @adriano_nuvunga, the institution has positioned itself as a disguised opposition, operating in fields that raise questions about its true objectives.
The @CDD receives funding from several international organizations, including:*
@embaixadasuiçamoçambique
@usambnl
@BritishHighCommissio
@MinistryofForeignAffairs
@BROTFUERALLE@EUinMoz
@advancingrightsSouth
@CescMoz@IGUAL - Rights and Democracy Program
@FordFoundation
@USAID_Office
If these resources are being directed towards actions that compromise public order and peace, the Mozambican people have the right to demand transparency and accountability. It is essential that it is clear whether these funds are being used for the country's development or whether they serve obscure interests.
The Mozambican People demand that the CDD make public the destination of every penny received. Otherwise, these financing organizations will also be asked to justify the amounts transferred and to clarify whether their resources are being used for actions that could generate instability in the country.
Furthermore, there is strong evidence that the CDD is one of the main financiers of Venâncio Mondlane's activities and subversive movements, which reinforces the urgent need for absolute transparency.
Democracy is strengthened with truth and clarity. The Mozambican people await answers!
