Manipur-
• 80 year old wife of a freedom fighter burnt alive
• Wife of a soldier who fought for our nation in the Kargil war was gang raped and paraded without clothes.
Where are those who distribute certificates of patriotism to others?
This is a national shame, and a national tragedy, even if these women had no tags of being relatives of a freedom fighter or a soldier.
The Manipur CM must be dismissed immediately and President’s rule is needed.
As armed mobs of men and women were looting police armouries across Imphal in #Manipur early May, one of the first victims of the ethnic conflict was a 21-year-old undergraduate student from Churachandpur district.

Parliament did not function for the 3rd day because of the continued refusal of the Modi Govt to accept the demand of INDIA parties for a comprehensive statement by the Prime Minister in the House on the post-May 3rd situation in Manipur to be followed by a discussion.
INDIA parties are only reflecting the sentiments of the people of Manipur and indeed of our country.
Why is the PM running away from speaking inside the House?
An 18-year-old woman was horrifically abducted, assaulted and gang-raped in Imphal East in Manipur on May 15.
She was handed over to 3 men who punched, slapped, & beat her & took turns raping her. They then tried to kill her but she fell off a hilltop & survived.
She approached the police on July 21, even though she says she doesn't trust the police.
When @narendramodi knew all this was happening, how could he still go on tours to France & the US! What kind of man does that!
#ManipurBurning
AAP Rajya Sabha MP @SanjayAzadSln has been suspended for the rest of the session. He was raising Manipur issue and demanding Prime Minister's statement in parliament. Piyush Goel moved a motion for suspension and VP Dhankar readily put it to vote, before adjourning the house till 2 PM.
And just like that, so casually, a member of parliament is censored, thrown out for demanding the presence of the leader of the house in the house!
I submitted a request for adjournment motion in Rajya Sabha to discuss the ongoing crisis that has been happened in Manipur since 3rd May 2023 till today.
Let's admit that there were incidents of violence against women in Bihar, West Bengal and Rajasthan
How does that excuse the continuing and relentless violence in Manipur?
Are there any Kukis left in the valley? Are there any Meiteis left in Churachandpur and other hill districts of Manipur?
If reports are true, ethnic cleansing is almost complete in Manipur
On an objective assessment, there is a collapse of Constitutional government in Manipur
The writ of the chief minister and his ministers does not run beyond their homes and offices
How can the situation in Manipur be compared to the situation in Bihar, West Bengal and Rajasthan?
The central government has not only been incompetent and partisan, it is callous and cruel when it hides behind the smokescreen of odious comparisons
If stern action is required in Bihar, West Bengal and Rajasthan, certainly instruct the state governments to take stronger action, but that does not excuse the barbarism that is taking place in Manipur
The Government of Manipur has collapsed. The Government of India is in a self-induced coma.
When the internet is restored in Manipur more videos will come out. This will surely impact the 2024 General Election. No damage control measures will be able to help @NBirenSingh and @narendramodi from hiding their true character. It's a shame some Mizos are still supporting BJP
In the paddy field, two groups of men surrounded the women a few metres apart and allegedly raped them. “I kept begging them to leave me. I told them I am a mother, thinking that they will have mercy,” the woman in her 40s had told ThePrint.

If Narendra Modi has any conscience left at all, he should resign as Prime Minister of India.
His silence on Manipur is disgusting, shameful. The most disastrous leader India has ever seen.
#Shame
The Prime Minister of India, accountable to the parliament in theory, has given a statement outside the parliament—literally standing outside the parliament.
But he staunchly resists walking in through that gate and subjecting himself to questions from parliamentarians and making a statement on the floor of the house. A true leader leads from the front, stands strong, answers diligently, and defends his govt’s actions. Accepts responsibility and makes a promise to fix where there is failure.
Here, the Prime Minister making a statement *outside* the gate of parliament rather than inside the parliament like a true “leader of the house” does more harm for the powers that be. It sends a message that he is feeble, incompetent to answer the parliament.
In which other functioning parliamentary democracy is this acceptable?
Just came back from an outstation visit. This heinous display of utter disrespect and objectification is a testament to the moral bankruptcy and despicable mentality of those involved in the revolting clip. Its sad how #Manipur finally got the attention of our PM @narendramodi
When law enforcers become law breakers.
This is tragic. No wonder there was no action on the FIR till the video went viral. Now the CM says 100s of such FIRs , the question is will they be acted upon and the guilty get the punishment they deserve?
"I would rather die than be these women": There's something about the #ManipurVideo- two young women, stripped naked, groped & shoved, one is gangraped- that breaks us all. "Will India stand with us?" ask Glady Hunjan weeping. Full conversation here: https://t.co/K2SMc4ujba
“100s of such cases have been filed, hence internet has been banned.”
This is CM of Manipur on record. If videos get leaked then get social media platforms to take down and follow Indian laws. While the state can be lawless with 100s of such cases. Shame.

For two days, May 3 and 4, the thousand-strong mob raided nine villages in the area, burning down houses and a church, and killing domestic animals, the retired soldier said. "I have seen war, have fought on the frontline in Kargil. And now I find my own place more dangerous than the battlefield.” Killing animals????!!
