@j_divis The Ecumenical Council of Nicaea was completely the philosophies and ideas of men from the fragmenting ancient Church that was unrecognizable to Jesus Christ & the Twelve 3 centuries earlier. It intensified the rivalry between Bishops, until 1054 when one great seismic schism…
@Shemcray2@j_divis Out of all the branches to take this post this one is the most interesting to me:
-is satan responsible for the errors perpetuated from the post apostolic church?
-can a person get all the saving ordinances and still believe in the Trinity?
-how bold is too bold in sharing truth?
@jaredadairbell So he’s implying that God literally had sex with Mary and may have been married to her first and then divorced?
Weird. Makes sense though I guess. Wonder if it’s true or not. I think it probably a detail that doesn’t matter.
Also bell, why are you sharing this?
@LargeInStature_ 1. I love your unapologetic plumber from Idaho take on things. (Calling Ellen page a she the whole time.)
2. Most people know this story already so idk if you have to call out spoilers but that was nice anyways.
3. I’ll prolly watch it on a plane sometime because you liked it.
@memeticsisyphus Punishment should be tied as closely to the natural consequences of the action.
Discipline is teaching. Make sure how you punish actually teaches the message you want. Physical violence rarely teaches what you hoped.
@memeticsisyphus The ever present possibility of physical violence is an important part of preventing violence in the home. It’s why fathers of especially teen boys have to stay strong until they are out of the house. Reason and deescalation is always first.
@stackerco I appreciate the sincerity you’ve approached this with.
The message of the restoration PRESUPPOSES a belief in God AND a belief that Jesus died for our sins.
Not surprised you have issues with the rest of the questions when number 1 started off so shaky.
@jaredadairbell We took up add space in a play that openly mocks us. We clearly don’t have a problem with dissenting voices.
Also, why didn’t we go after them and make them call that musical something else…?
