So when you read about eight members of an NBC News Team being beaten by Israeli settlers today in the West Bank, it's important to note two things:

1. The settler wouldn't do this to Americans had they not received a green light from the Israeli gov.

My friend pays $487 a month for health insurance.

That’s $5,844 a year.

He needed an MRI after hurting his shoulder.

Insurance-approved facility.

Insurance-approved doctor.

Everything “in network.”

The bill was $2,940.

Insurance negotiated it down to $1,860.

His deductible?

$2,500.

So he paid the $1,860.

Meaning he’ll spend at least $7,704 this year between premiums and that one scan before insurance meaningfully does anything.

He asked the billing office what the uninsured cash price was.

$1,100.

So somehow having insurance made the MRI $760 more expensive for him.

Very cool.

This courageous aid worker did nothing to deserve to be killed, does not deserve to be called a legitimate target after she was murdered, and those responsible should still be prosecuted.

There is at least a partial turning point in the war in Sudan, as the SAF is regaining the initiative, especially in North Kordofan. This is stressing the RSF logistics throughout the country and leading to defections:

1) The SAF took many areas in North Kordofan, including Bara, Jabra al-Sheikh, Umm Sayala, and secured the Khartoum–Omdurman–el-Obeid Exports Road.

2) The new corridor lets SAF squeeze logistics into Darfur/Kordofan, and it's actively working to cut them further.

3) There is a surge in RSF defections with 600+ fighters and dozens of commanders defected in August alone, including senior figures.

4) Some gains in Western Darfur where the SAF repelled RSF attacks near el-Geneina, destroyed 38+ RSF vehicles, killed a senior RSF commander

5) SAF fully recovered Khartoum in 2025 and holds it as a secure base.

6) The SAF retains drone/air advantage over RSF in most theaters.

Bottomline: There is little chance of an imminent RSF collapse. But the SAF may take more territory and they can now negotiate from a position of strength.

A large convoy of RSF vehicles where today preparing to attack El Obeid and the surrounding villages. No doubt had they managed to attack, villagers in the surrounding area would’ve have been killed women would have been raped. This didn’t happen because Army drones destroyed the bulk of the force before they could begin to attack. This is exactly what a US sponsored Arms embargo on Sudan is meant to prevent, to level the playing field again so that the Sudanese Armed forces cannot preemptively take the UAE’s proxy genocidal militiamen.
