People normally assume the club operates flawlessly, that they don’t make mistakes. So in the Nico G situation they’ll reach for phrases like “there must be something wrong we don’t see from the outside” or “even Pep didn’t rate him at all.”

Use your own eyes. Watch the football.

These people aren’t angels. They make mistakes, they assess players wrongly, and Pep of all people had flaws post-treble beyond what most of you are willing to admit. The lineups, the substitutions, the treatment of certain players. It was there for anyone honest enough to look.

Institutions are run by human beings, and human beings get things wrong. This is one of those times.

@mehulg10 Probably a bit of both. Think the current plan is to give Maresca a clean slate with players more accustomed to HIS style rather than Pep’s. It will be interesting to see who else City bring in by the end of the transfer window.
