When a widow in rural Odisha is denied her basic right for over a year, it’s not a lapse — it’s neglect. @OHRC_Official take urgent action. @DMKhordha you must respond. #RightToDignity#EndWelfareInjustice
To the Hon’ble Human Rights Commission and Concerned Authorities,
It is deeply distressing that Mrs. Bhabeni Prusty, a widow from Kaimatia Patna village, Jatani Block, Khordha District, has not received her rightful widow allowance for the past 18 months, despite being eligible under the social security scheme.
We highlighted her case on March 19th and received a response from the @SSEPD2 on April 29th, but no action has been taken to deliver her entitlement to date.

This is not just a delay — it is a denial of basic human rights, especially for a vulnerable woman who has been left without financial support or dignity.
We urgently request: @OHRC_Official
@India_NHRC to take cognizance of this case, intervene immediately, and ensure she receives her pending widow allowance immediately.
This issue reveals systemic failure in the delivery of welfare schemes. When rights become targets and entitlements are withheld, it questions the very spirit of governance and justice. @saritabarpanda
We also request @DMKhordha@DSSOKHORDHA2@JatniSamiti@CMO_Odisha@NityanandaBJP to ensure justice is served.
Why should a widow be denied her rights due to official apathy? Isn’t this a violation of her right to life with dignity under Article 21? What role are institutions like HRCs playing in such everyday injustices?
