19 YEARS FIGHT….
AND CASE CLOSED FOREVER!!!
Ayesha Meera!
The name and the case is known widely across the Telugu speaking states.
Ayesha Meera was a 17.5 year old girl. Her parents Samshad Begum and Syed Iqbal Basha wanted their daughter to study and become an independent woman.
She was pursuing her BPharma while staying at Sri Durga Ladies Hostel in West Ibrahimpatnam, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
On December 27, 2007, Ayesha was rapped, and stabbed multiple times. Her body was found in the bathroom of the hostel.
The case sent shivers down every parent’s spine whose children were staying in hostels and studying.
Everyone knew that the rape and murder was by the grandson of the then Deputy CM. It was widely reported too. But he was a powerful man and so the SYSTEM rushed to protect him.
In August 2008, Satyam Babu, a man who could barely walk was arrested in the case.
Satyam Babu, suffered from a neurological disorder. He has GB Syndrome which affected his nervous system and his two legs were paralysed. NIMS hospital doctors confirmed the same.
An SC man, Satyam Babu who could barely walk was made the scapegoat. They said he scaled the compound wall of the hostel, climbed up the second floor and went to the 6th block, found the victim sleeping in her bed, went again down to the house in the next street came back with a chutney pounder and scaled the walls, climbed the stairs and then attacked the victim. According to the police, he dragged her to the bathroom, tied her up and raped her & later left a letter on her signed “Chiruta 143”.
The creativity used by the police to protect the actual criminal was first of its kind.
Every police officer, every politician, every single person associated with the case decided to help the perpetrator. Some for the sake of money, some for career advancement. Not a single soul acted like a human.
Every evidence was manipulated, every single sample was tampered with. Courts convicted Satyam Babu with the proofs that were submitted by the police. Uneducated, poor man Satyam Babu had no support to fight the powerful system.
Even Ayesha Meera’s parents never accepted that Satyam Babu raped and murdered their daughter. They vehemently opposed the police version from day 1.
The Vijayawada women's special sessions court awarded 14 years jail to Satyam Babu in the case under section 302 of IPC for murder and 10 years of rigorous imprisonment under section 376 of IPC for rape.
But! After 8 years, on 31 March 2017, the Hyderabad High Court not only acquitted Satyam Babu but also awarded him 1 lakhs compensation for wrongful incarceration.
After huge uproar, on 29 November 2018, the case was handed over to the CBI. An SIT formed by the High Court found out that even before Satyam Babu’s acquittal, all trial court files were destroyed!
The CBI conducted a re-postmortem to Ayesha, even questioned Koneru Satish, Koneru Ranga Rao’s grandson in the case. There was hope that finally justice will be delivered to Ayesha Meera and her parents.
In June 2025, CBI declared the case closed.
The case even today is considered a nuclear bomb in police circles of both states. Every police officer that worked on the case is today in the top most position. No one wants to touch the case.
Parents of Ayesha had to run around the courts again to take Ayesha’s mortal remains. Yesterday the CBI court ordered to handover the remains and to perform last rites as per the religious customs in Tenali on February 27.
A closure that doesn’t feel like a closure but a colossal failure of the system.
A massive injustice to Ayesha Meera, her parents and Satyam Babu.
ఒక ఆడపిల్లకి న్యాయం చెయ్యలేకపోయిన, చేతకాని వ్యవస్థలు మనవి!!!
17 year old Ayesha will never get justice!
My son has been boycotted by kids in our lane. The reason - we (yes, both of us) started playing football everyday with a Nepali kid whose father is a servant in one of the neighbouring houses.
For context, in my lane - almost everyone (barring yours truly) has a business, net worth well over 100 CR, have either BMW, Audi or Volvo as their cars, most houses have multiple servants & spend lavishly on parties regularly.
BUT they consider it as "beneath their standards” for their kids to play with a servant's kid?
Let that sink in.
This is not about money.
This is not about success.
This is about classism dressed up as culture and values.
We teach our kids English accents, global exposure, and the right schools
BUT we quietly pass down the ugliest inheritance of all:
the belief that dignity depends on surname, salary, or the job your father does.
We may have overcome casteism, but will ever overcome our shallow mindsets of economic inequality & status symbols?

"For the past three years, I have been serving as a lifeguard at Tank Bund, following in the footsteps of my father, who has served people for over two decades as a lifeguard. Living on the banks of Hussain Sagar lake, our life revolves around saving others. People have come to know me as "Tank Bund Shiva's son," a title that carries immense pride and responsibility.
Balancing my higher education with my duties at the lake is a challenge, but my father's legacy fuels my determination. He has taught me not just the skills needed for rescue, but also the compassion and understanding necessary to support those in distress. His experiences and the stories he shared shaped my motive to carry on this vital work.
Hussain Sagar is a place of historical significance in Hyderabad, but it also harbors deep sorrow. Many come here seeking peace, while others, overwhelmed by life's difficulties, see it as an escape. Each time I see someone preparing to jump, my heart races. Every rescue is a battle against time, a desperate attempt to instill hope in the midst of despair. When I cannot save a life, the pain is indescribable, but it only strengthens my resolve to try harder next time.
Through my work, I have seen the pain of those who feel they have no other choice. This has taught me the critical importance of mental health and the need for people to seek help when they feel overwhelmed. No problem is so great that it cannot be overcome. Temporary issues should not lead to permanent decisions. There is always hope, always a way out, and sometimes all it takes is a hand reaching out in the darkness.
Despite the emotional toll, I am determined to continue. This is not just a job; it is a service to humanity. Each life saved is a victory, each recovery a reminder of why this work matters.
I believe that giving back to society is a responsibility we all share. My father always said that our actions create ripples that affect countless lives. By continuing his work, I hope to inspire others to look beyond their immediate concerns and offer help to those in need."
- Venu Madhav, Life Guard at Hussain Sagar Lake, Hyderabad

Even another 10 years of Modi ji won't cure the ground level apathy of authorities, the local administration, the local municipality, the local courts, the local hospitals, are still nightmares. Literal minefields of broker infested corruption.
It's easier to create a 1000 km expressway, but much difficult to repair that pothole or a dangerous u-turn near your house.
This is Shweta Sanjiv Bhatt,
In these last 5 years, I've often been asked if I still have any faith in the Judiciary ….. while the subversion witnessed has been shocking and saddening, I held on to a sliver of hope that there must still exist a handful few, who would bravely and honestly dispatch justice.
However, today I stand questioning my misplaced belief.
The Supreme Court yesterday slapped a 3 Lakh rupee fine on us for approaching the court, for what they called, "Many" times.
Little did I know that in Modi's India, pursuing justice is a criminal offence … little did I know that there was a limit to the number of times one can approach a forum to seek justice!
I naively thought that access to justice …. not limited justice, was a fundamental right guaranteed to all its citizens by the constitution of this country.
For the last 5 years, every petition filed by us kept biting the dust in the registry, un-numbered for years at a time, only to be taken up by the court to be dismissed without it even being heard.
So yes, we approach the Court in pursuit of Justice because justice has been, and continues to be systematically denied to us.
Courts are meant to be a safe haven for an individual seeking justice, but when the very court abuses their power to penalise individuals for approaching them, where does one turn to get justice?
Reprimanding, intimidating and penalising individuals for approaching the court, is a gross violation of their very fundamental human rights.
But sadly, today we live in times where seeking justice is criminalised, reprimanded, and fined ... Where honesty no longer has a place in society and where subversion rules the day.
We live in times where rapists, rioters and lynchers are not only entertained, but they walk scot free; whereas honest and brave individuals languish in jail waiting for one fair day in court.
This regime continues to use their unbridled power to subvert systems …. to make a mockery of our once robust judicial system, all with the sole intention to intimidate, silence and break Sanjiv.
To this regime and their stooges, I have only one thing to say:
You may continue to play your unscrupulous games …. we will continue to fight despite all odds.
We have honesty and truth by our side, you have all your powers to be.
So beat us, break us, intimidate us, harass us .... we will keep fighting, till the castle of lies you've built on hate, fear and subversion come crumbling down.
We continue to remain unbroken, unbent, unbowed in our pursuit of justice.

The wife, daughter, sister, of Current MLA, MPs are the only ones who will benefit from this 30% women reservation bill; not anyone else. This will do worse 😔
Unless you add clause of "one family one ticket" in it. Not expected from a new gen country like ours !
You might have often heard the argument: that if all Indians contribute just 1Rs, then poverty can be eradicated from India.
Well, you are already doing much more than that.
- Karnataka's Freebie Budget: 50,000 Crore
- Punjab's Freebie Budget: 25,000Crore
- Andhra Pradesh, WB, MP: 67,000 Crore
Total from these states: 142K Crore
Total Indians 140 Crores.
(More states to be covered!)
Congratulations, you are not paying 1 Rs, you are paying more than 1000 Rs.
But, sad part is that poverty still won't be eradicated.
Why? because freebie is a political tool to empower political parties, not you.
One of the biggest problems that I've with BJP Leaders/supporters is their gross belittling of the poor and marginalised communities by equating their helplessness to access Education To their ability to vote. Look at this Sanghi mor0n blatantly showing his elitist mentality.
