Lord, thank you for the book of Proverbs. Thank you for the opportunity to read its wisdom these past 175 days. Help me to continue to grow in your word that I may have a better life!
Lord, forgive me if I have failed to plan well. Forgive me also if I have trusted in my plans and not in you. I resolve to do my best. I resolve to put my hope completely in you. Amen.
Lord, I pray that you would direct our president's heart like a stream of water. I pray this for our leaders in Congress and in the the judiciary. I pray that you will direct my heart like a stream of water to fulfill your purposes in my life. Amen.
Sovereign Lord, today I will plan my course, but I recognize that you establish my steps. I want to be sensitive to your purposes even if it means changing my plans. Amen.
Lord, I tend to hurry around with my clock and my calendar as if I am in complete control. Today I humble myself beneath your sovereign hand. I acknowledge that you are God, and I am not. I thank you that you have a purpose greater than my little plans. Amen.
Lord, have I been so focused on my life plans that I have ignored the path of my life? Help me to give greater thought to who I am than what I do. Amen.
Lord, I lay my plans before you. I commit them to you. I want them to honor you and advance your kingdom. I ask you to establish my plans according to your will. Amen.
Lord, bring to mind wise people who could be a resource to me in the plans for my life. Give me the humility to ask their advice and the wisdom to really listen to what they say. Amen.
Lord, I am often preoccupied with the day-to-day tasks of life. I do not give enough thought to where my life is going. This week help me to look ahead. Help me to make plans that will bless me and honor you. Amen.
Lord, I am tempted to become cynical and discouraged by all the corruption and fraud in the world. Sometimes I use these feelings as an excuse not to be kind to the poor. Forgive me. Help me to hear these words in Proverbs today. Amen.
Lord, thank you that you are always attentive to my prayers for help. Enable me to listen to the needs of the poor with that same godlike sensitivity. Amen.
Father, I now see that my disparaging comments about the poor are an insult to you. I ask your forgiveness. Change my thinking and my conversation concerning the poor. Amen.
Lord, you are the Maker of everything and everyone. Forgive me if I have considered myself better than other people made in your image. Help me see value and worth in every person I meet today. Amen.
Lord, I pray for justice in our nation. I pray for fairness in our court systems. Help me examine my life and business dealings. Show me if I have mistreated anyone because of their economic or social standing. Help me be a defender of the poor as you are. Amen.
