On this day in 1992:
On an Old Trafford pitch like a bowling green, their “young guns” Sharpe and Giggs put Middlesbrough to the sword to make it through to the Rumbelows Cup final.
All described beautifully by Clive Tyldesley on 🎙️
@Zar_RedIssue Didn't shut up about it for ages. The more media exposure he gets ( and it's far too much) the more I can't help thinking Jaap Stam was absolutely spot on with his assessment of Neville in his book!!
2 goals direct from corners in a week. Can't command his area, absolute garbage. Supposed to be brilliant with ball at his feet. Not convinced. Would prefer him to be decent with his hands.
Says he wants a new challenge, Manager says you that you have biggest challenge in football if you want it. Attitude is not what it should be. Fans can accept loss of form but lack of effort in the shirt when you are a United fan who came up through the club is unacceptable.
@UtdArts1 Well put. 1st period of having the team on the pitch being the most important part of the club for a long time.
United have to start competing at the top of the league again. If the new football structure get it right 1st time it will be some turnaround in few short months!
