We just announced Basalt: The Cursed Vein!
A grim roguelite match-3 where you mine, rebuild, and face things best left underground. The deeper you dig, the greater the rewards, but the villagers warn: Don’t dig too deep!
We’re making this game together with @rubarbstudio
Our programmer is making a game called Share Wars, and has recently started a devlog over at the official Godot forums! Give him a follow so that he feels the pressure 🗜️ to actually finish the game. 😄 @mandarinx https://t.co/0Xu8NHSqAq
You know that legacy code some guy wrote and then left the company? Now you have to maintain that code, but no one really knows how it works.
With AI, you can now ✨generate✨ this kind of code!
This is these guys in a nutshell. It's a shot-for-shot remake of the original trailer... except it's not even a good copy. It's not just that there is not a single original idea in there, they aren't even aware that they have taken out all the substance. (A li'l thread.)
@AnderssonKev You shouldnt sell the family jewels. If you have something that you think is valuable, don’t sell it. If someone else sees value in your game, it might be of more value than you think.
I whole heartedly agree. When I started looking into Godot I used C# because that’s what I was used to from Unity. But going back and forth between IDE and editor was slowing me down. With gdscript, gamedev is fun fun fun!
I've been kind of in stealth mode for a while getting a new game studio, @rubarbstudio, off the ground with some very talented friends. We started on a couple of small original games, and suddenly today we are one year old! 🎉
Hark, something unholy stirs in the underdepths...
@McFunkypants The closest experience I have, was when I did some work for a US company, where I had to provide a document from the police, saying that I'm not a criminal. Maybe they want to be absolutely sure that you are not an AI?
@JonasTyroller@godotengine Same experience here. Also learnt that I can work on my laptop, running on the battery, while I have it on my lap, without burning a hole through my jeans.
Bramble is finally out! I've been working on this game on and off for five years and it's been fun the whole time, even during heavier workloads. A sound designer/composer's dream job.
You can play right now on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. ❤️
