🇿🇦🇦🇺Former SA Boxer Finds More Love and Success in Australia

Former South African boxer Lovemore ‘Black Panther’ Nḓou is thriving in his adopted home of Sydney, Australia, where he has lived for the past 30 years.

Born in Musina, Limpopo, Nḓou left South Africa in 1996 to pursue better boxing opportunities Down Under. Since then, he has built a multifaceted and successful life abroad.

On the personal front, Nḓou has found lasting love with his American-born wife, Sako Nḓou. The couple frequently shares glimpses of their life on social media, where they can be seen exercising together and raising Nḓou’s grandchildren from his previous marriage to Florence.

Beyond his family life, Nḓou has achieved remarkable academic and professional success. He holds six degrees, is currently pursuing a PhD, and runs Lovemore Lawyers, a highly successful law firm specialising in criminal and family law in New South Wales.

Nḓou also briefly ventured into South African politics by forming the Build A Better South Africa (BABSA) party. Campaigning heavily on anti-corruption and infrastructure development, the party unfortunately performed dismally in the 2024 general elections.

Following that political setback, Nḓou has shifted his focus away from South African politics to concentrate fully on his legal practice and family life in Australia.

In the boxing ring, Nḓou finished his career with an impressive record of 49 wins, 13 losses, and 2 draws. His accolades included two IBF World Welterweight titles and one IBF World Light Welterweight title.

JUSTICE MBUYISELI MADLANGA'S JOURNEY

■ Born in a rural village of Njinji outside Mount Frere in the Eastern Cape on 27 March 1962.
■ Matriculated at Mariazell High School in Matatiele.
■ Got his BJuris at University of Transkei. Got his LLB at Rhodes University.
■ Lectured part time at Rhodes while working for the Department of Justice to fulfill bursary obligations. They paid fees for his LLB.
■ He then lectured full time for two years at Rhodes.
■ Graduated with an LLM Degree in Human Rights and Constitutional Law, Cum Laude, from University of Notre Dame in Indiana, USA.
■ He did his internship at Amnesty International at the Washington DC Office, USA.
■ Came back to South Africa and completed pupillage at the Johannesburg Bar. Went to practice at the Mthatha Bar.

■ In 1996, at the age of 34, he was appointed as a Judge of the Mthatha High Court, becoming the youngest Judge at the time.
■ At the age of 37, he was appointed Acting Judge of Appeal at the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein.
