"I'd be remiss if I didn't say the best coaching moment of the night was we told Rafi if he got on first, we were going to pinch-run for him."
Tony Vitello inspired Devers' ninth-inning homer 😂
@monkeymangina@GreatSageCorban@DementorHere@evileboxyboo Should've elaborated. The base model is $1049. Everyone is bringing up the $1400 model (not just here) as the base line when the only difference is the storage, unlike the difference in price/perf of the PS5/PS5 pro.
Complaining about the price of the Steam Machine while posting an image made with the technology responsible for the 30% price markup is certainly a take.
Personally the reason I’m thinking about getting it is because I like it for the small form factor and the plug and play.
I’m not concerned with performance/graphics since I usually play a lot of games on my main rig for the first time. This will just be my couch co-op and replay rig. However, I do wish it came with a better processor and at least 12gb vram instead.
I already have a PS5, but I’ve had terrible luck with them getting bricked and/or having issues with games constantly crashing. (Have sent 1 back under warranty and 1 out of warranty). This combined with the ever increasing yearly subscription and barely any exclusives I care for will make this my last non-Nintendo console.
This was already going to be a very niche product, and the current pricing due to the memory/storage shortage definitely made it even more so, but for me and many others the Steam Machine is an cool addition to the ecosystem.
@NikTek@valvesoftware Yup, at this point it's only worth it if you want a dedicated machine to move around the house and take on trips. Even then, if you already have spare parts you can always build a small form factor rig for less
@valvesoftware Im sorry but $1000+ for a base 512GB Steam Machine without a controller is simply not worth it.
The rise of RAM prices has ruined hardware prices, Steam Machine just happens to be a good product released in a very wrong time
@LophoWilli@basedgamerbro@Dexerto Pretty sure 9070xts here in the U.S. can be had for as low as ~$720. Granted, the steam machine is a whole ass system, but the 9070xt lets me run newer games in 4k 60+ fps with FSR.
