There are certain days in history that change everything. 28 June, 1916 was one of those. In the early hours of that day my Great, Great Uncle Thomas Wilson clambered from his trench in front of Hairpin Craters, not far from Hulluch, as part of a raid on the German lines. 1/ #ww1

#OnThisDay-1996 Jon Pertwee died
Before becoming the Third Doctor in #DoctorWho, Jon Pertwee served in the Royal Navy during WWII
He worked in Naval Intelligence under Ian Fleming, taking part in covert operations he described as more dangerous than any role he played on screen
The passing of our dear friend Jochen Mass is a devastating loss for us all. He was a racing legend, winning the Spanish Grand Prix for McLaren in 1975, and Le Mans for Sauber-Mercedes in 1989. He was a hugely popular figure here at Goodwood, always wearing a smile and encapsulating everything that makes our motorsport events so special. We were honoured to have Jochen as a House Captain at Members' Meeting for 10 years and he wore his striped blazer with immense pride. We'll miss you Jochen. Our thoughts go out to his friends and family.
We took the opportunity to get these beautiful Gullwing's together ahead of the #82MM weekend. These stunning machines decorated the circuit giving us all a sight to behold. Are these the prettiest sports cars #Mercedes has produced?
