Fidei Defensor: King Charles’s updated position
Buckingham Palace has revealed a major change to the King's official role. According to the latest Sovereign Grant report, it describes King Charles as “the protector of faith” across Britain's diverse religious landscape.
Charles did not proclaim to be the “Defender of faiths” during his coronation - as he once said he would do - but regardless, he has made it official. Does this extend to his kingdom’s Christians?
The monarch claims to be safeguarding the right to practice one’s religion. According to the official updated document: "His Majesty is Supreme Governor of the Church of England and protects the space for Faith within the multi-faith nation." Has he been helping to protect a Christian’s right to freely express their faith? Has he stepped in to guard them from those who would intimidate them, too? Hmmm....
Harry &Meghan were mad at the royal family not because the royals did anything wrong TO them, it's because they would not do wrong FOR them. The Queen didn't cover for Harry, and then Meghan, the same way she did for Andrew and, by extension, Fergie. That's what enraged both Sussexes.
If the monarchy is going to survive, they need to train up their children in the way they should go - a righteous path of humility and service. Not whatever this mess is, currently.

@Independent Samuel Fishwick, Harry's multiple, weeks-long trips have been happening for eons, and suddenly NOW it's a bridge too far? Is this clickbait?

The government is considering reviving the so-called Henry VIII powers, passing legislation which would allow Labour to change regulations without having to face full scrutiny from MPs.
But does Keir Starmer realise that there is a difference between the ability to make such changes and the political capital to carry them out?

If Philip was still alive, he would likely be doing what they've all done, always, at the behest of the Queen: covering for Andrew. This is why I hope to the high heavens that the Prince and Princess of Wales are raising Louis to have morals and educate him to find fulfilling work. I pray that they have laid down the law with him and his shenanigans. It might be cute when he's 10 but when he's 40 or 60 years old (and obviously at loose ends) it's very ugly. As we've seen.
The Palace Wants You to Feel Sorry for Andrew. Don’t. https://t.co/s0AaTaFaDq . Great piece by Tom Sykes. Call me hard-hearted but all my sources are saying Andrew feels no remorse and sees himself as a victim. Ditto Fergie. I share Tom's belief that Andrew will not face justice and there is a lot of window dressing going on.
