Massively excited about @PhDockerill’s presentation on microbubbles as potential pressure sensors tomorrow at the Health Sciences Doctoral Training Centre (HSDTC) Annual Research Symposium - good luck Cam!! @pablolamata@alessfaraci
Attending an online symposium hosted by @escardio: Does atherosclerosis have a sex and gender? Perspectives from basic science to clinical practice. THIS IS GREAT ⭐️🫀
Yesterday the first paper for my thesis came out!!🥳🥳
It's been a massive project and feels so good to see it wrapped up so nicely (thanks to everyone involved from @CEMRG_KCL, @PICnetEU and @KingsImaging !).

The greater time spread between top 10 fastest women’s finishers might reflect the smaller number of women in the sport in general. Perhaps also keep thinking about how to improve equal opportunities for participation (eg in mindset, facilities and expectations, beyond distances)
I agree it depends on what you’re optimising for. For more fast women competing in a race, it seems a shorter XC distance than the men’s is better (similar time for the fastest men and women to finish, say county and national champs).
Equalising race distances for men and women in XC - a statistical analysis 📊📈
Preface:
▪️I’m not an expert, just an athlete with nothing better to do
▪️This data was pulled from publicly available sources
▪️This is only a case study, not a comprehensive investigation
For more participants, try equal race distances for men and women (start everyone together to balance officiating time, say club level champs). Great to have a variety of XC distances and courses to get everyone (I assume variability from both men and women on this) involved!
