The Prime Minister’s spokesperson has confirmed that the Home Secretary’s article was not cleared by No 10.
Article 8.2 of the Ministerial code says all such interventions have to be cleared.
Given it wasn’t cleared, what will he do now? My letter to the PM is below.
“We gaze at mountain scenery; we watch the waves breaking on the shore; we walk through a beech wood in October. And we are filled with a sense of beauty. We return home feeling refreshed, like a thirsty man who has drunk a glass of water.” ~C.R.Milne #Autumn#nature#Sunday
Suella Braverman's speech is a desperate attempt to spread fear and sow division. She says the public are on her side but the polls show the opposite. Britain is an open and welcoming place - her attempts at Trumpism won't work.
What makes us who we are? Which talents, traits, and resemblances do we inherit? Our ancestral paths should be kept clear, not allowed to become overgrown. There's wonder and joy if you follow the path.
'Clear the Path’ is out now

“I can face the winter with calm. Crisp and sparkling days, long pleasant evenings, cheery fires. Good work shall be done this winter. Life shall be lived well. The end of the summer is not the end of the world. Here’s to October.” ~A.A.Milne #October#October1#nature
Got a bit personal on #BBCPoliticsLive today because this stuff really matters to me.
I will always advocate for those with dyslexia & from lower income backgrounds, not least because I know exactly how that feels.
Sadly, despite paying for Twitter Blue, people are still not seeing my tweets like they used to.😔
Can you please do me a favour? If you follow me and you see this tweet, can you please retweet it.🙏
To make it more worth sharing, here's a Kingfisher on a thorny branch. 🥰🐦
Sinead was a force of nature. A brilliant songwriter & performer whose talent we will not see the like of again. Such passion, such intense presence & a beautiful soul, who battled her own personal demons courageously. Be at peace dear Sinead, you will forever be in our hearts. t
It is the privilege of my life to be elected as the Labour MP for Selby and Ainsty.
Together we have made history and delivered a fresh start for our community.
Now, it is time for a fresh start for Britain.
