4. The show keeps telling us that 'True Love' for merfolk is something transactional, a nutrition to be consumed, so that's how they quite literally live on 'Love'. In the finale, Lara discards that notion and goes to find the new light, new definition of love

Also the thing about being human = cannot see the light = Lara no longer find love with Mari is just so cruel of an intepretation.

So for human, to know love you'll have to express it (with words, presumably), but the merfolks can see its manifestation. Mari said so herself that she had to get closer to Lara to understand her (expressing her love)

@Vape_pen_ I made a post about the EP10 scene, but personally I think Lara's light can react to her emotionally, so with the overwhelming desire to see Mari again I am 100% she commanded the light to basically spit Mari back to her

@Vape_pen_ I disagree that her 'death' explain plot holes, it just intepret the tonal shift of the epilogue in the most tragic way possible.

IMO Lara still feels pain with every step because she's working on her trauma. 6 months is a long time to untangle some damage but not all.

- Grandma probably talks to Yoshiya about the work/shift, not Lara's
- It's kinda hard to explain but EP10 established how the light can create/give life, so Mari being revived is plausible
