Denying access to a high quality public university education for 5000 students does nothing to protect the environment.
#CEQA needs reform.

Virginia has welcomed more than 50,000 people from Afghanistan—vastly more than any other state—arriving in the U.S. through Dulles Airport, to build new lives in freedom around this country. It’s hard work—and one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever been part of. Welcome!
Terrifying testimony from some of the 18,000 Afghans who have worked for and helped the U.S. and are enduring threats as they continue to wait for promised Special Immigrant Visas.
"As I receive threats and my father receives calls from the Taliban, I fear that after the U.S. withdraws, if we're left behind, me and my family will be killed by insurgents"

The United States has a "profound obligation...to protect Afghan interpreters and their families from being slaughtered by the Taliban once the troops are gone. Many of them risked their lives to serve the United States." #SaveOurAllies

Robert Gates: U.S. has ‘obligation’ to evacuate thousands of Afghan interpreters using special immigrant visas. “Frankly, I think the way we treated a lot of the interpreters that work in Afghanistan has been a disgrace,” former defense secretary tells @BretBaier
If you served and were exposed to burn pits (i was) Wednesday we will be discussing the health consequences of them. If you feel comfortable reply to this thread & tell me if you have had health problems or if you know someone who has. Will try to put into the committee record.
So apparently AB 946, which would eliminate mortgage interest deductions for *second homes* in California, isn't moving forward this year. A similar bill failed a few years ago too. It blows my mind that there are any Democrats who oppose this.
This is awful.
"At the current pace, about 4,100 people would be resettled here this year. That would be the lowest number since the modern refugee resettlement program began in 1980"

@katelynnlindsey @EmmmilyGZ I do not have much expertise in yams, but I believe that in Limol, Western Province, there are at least three different species of Dioscorea commonly cultivated. I'm not sure that flesh color is good for distinguishing species, but can be for distinguishing between varieties.
@katelynnlindsey @EmmmilyGZ Yam species differ in the way the direction (clockwise, counterclockwise) they grow up a pole, leaf shape, the presence of thorns, the presence of aerial tubers (bulbils), etc. This guide is helpful for common yams in the Pacific region: https://t.co/Hs4aYddOUu
