one of the funniest things i noticed in china was how companies would come up with random, very clearly fabricated backstories (usually in English), like this pastry shop in Beijing that claims to have been founded in Paris in 1875
We talk a lot about how therapy speak has been coopted by manipulators, but not enough about how social justice language gets used by people "advocating" for shit that isn't an actual injustice.
I got in an argument in her comments because she made a video about how unhappy she was with all of her material privilege so I said she should probably try volunteering and maybe giving up some material and everyone said I was being ableist and didn’t understand depression
