MTS posts are for employment, not for punishing educated youth

Once again, the Government has kept the maximum qualification for MTS posts at 10+2. The question is simple: Where will our graduates and post-graduates go?

Is their crime that they studied more?

A young person who has spent years earning a graduation or post-graduation degree is being told that he/she is “overqualified” to even apply for an MTS post. At the same time, the Government is neither providing enough employment opportunities nor creating a pathway for these educated unemployed youth.

They are forced to set up a rehri, Do daily-wage labour, Leave their degrees at home and struggle for survival.

If a graduate or post-graduate is willing to compete for an MTS post, why should the Government stop them from applying? Let merit and competition decide who gets selected.

The Government must immediately reconsider this arbitrary maximum qualification and allow all eligible educated youth to apply.

Our youth don't need lectures. They need opportunities. Enough of excluding educated youth from government jobs!

In the wake of devastating floods ravaging J&K how exactly does @jkssbofficial expect students from all over the state to appear for JKSSB, JKPSC & SER exams scheduled for September?

How does one appeal to you for the application of logic & empathy in such times? Why are you causing immense stress to our youngsters? Will heavens fall if you delay these exams? Or does this point to a larger malaise, malpractice & corruption in the board?

Spoke to Hon'ble LG J&K & also wrote a letter, bringing to his attention the pressing concerns of students & aspirants regarding the forthcoming Munsiff & 10+2 Lecturer exams by JKPSC. Due to recent floods & landslides, students are facing immense challenges, including, Disrupted road connectivity & poor internet services. Requested postponement of the exams to ensure fairness & credibility, allowing students adequate time to prepare once basic facilities are restored. This decision will safeguard the future of thousands of young aspirants & demonstrate the administration's sensitivity towards the student community.

Lop have taken this matter to the LG but see the behavior of JKPSC. And also the Elected Government of J&K remains silent on these issues.

The Maximum roads are closed for the vehicular movement but JKSET is conducting exam tomorrow. Many aspirants are not able to reach their exam centers.

I think VC can't see the ground situation and @OmarAbdullah @sakinaitoo are also missing.

The JKSET exam scheduled for 7th September must be postponed in view of student safety. With roads blocked and far-flung candidates unable to reach Jammu, conducting the exam in such conditions is unfair. Authorities must act responsibly.

Rural students are making a modest recovery on learning outcomes after a prolonged decline due to the pandemic, as per @asercentre.

However, a majority of kids in Class 3 & 5 still can't read Class 2 level text.

The ASER 2024 report is a great endorsement for NEP 2020, its focus on developing foundational literacy and numeracy skills and its success in improving learning outcomes.

As per the report, reading and numeracy skills of children in all grades has improved significantly, with quantum improvements in classes 1 to 3. Government schools across India have also shown remarkable gains and outpaced private schools in learning recovery.

An insightful meeting with the team of @Pratham_India where we discussed the trends in detail and the way forward to further reduce learning gaps, remove barriers to learning and build on the gains.
