The student protestors tried to replace an old and worn out Salai Taret (7 coloured flag) which was on the outside gate of DC office, Thoubal. Both the flags were removed from the gate after the mob was dispersed by the police.

Captain Subam's direct involvement in activities with militant groups leaves no room for doubt. This alarming revelation reaffirms a troubling alliance between specific elements within the Assam Rifles and these militants. This alliance has been apparent since the onset of the Manipur crisis, a clear indication of the Kuki militants operating under the cover of the Assam Rifles, allowing them to terrorise the innocent Meitei population with impunity.

These actions have understandably drawn the ire of the Meira Paibis, the valiant women leading Manipuri society. In response, they have been unfairly vilified by both the Assam Rifles and the Kuki militants.

To pave the way for lasting peace within the state and to begin rebuilding trust in paramilitary forces, it is imperative for the Indian government to respond to the majority sentiment in Manipur by promptly replacing the Assam Rifles with alternative central forces.
