Ok... Let me sum it all up for you soft ass charger fans that are ready to jump off a bridge 5 hours into Mondays tampering season (FA isn't till Wed)
1) FA isn't till Wednesday. Teams are holding out because other teams are waiting for trade offers before players are released (ie. Cooper Kupp) the deadline to do that is Wednesday.
2) if you thought you had a front office that will spend big money on big names you are sadly mistaken. Hortiz comes from Baltimore under Ozzie Newsome who was a genius at drafting and FA. He (Hortiz) is well aware of the effect of overspending on one position years down the road.
3) we have 12 draft picks so far. 1 every round and multiples in higher rounds. The teams making these "big" moves do not. Rams have the most (after comp pick) with 8, but no 2nd round pick and 4 of them are round 6. Steelers have 7 with no round 2 pick and 2 in the 7th. Teams with limited options in the draft need to make moves in FA which typically creates overspending and cap struggles in future years.
4) notice our signings are 1-2 year signings? They are smart not to commit 4 years and HUNDREDS of millions to players that don't necessarily have a good 5 year projection. It's just not smart. We will have a huge pool to pull from mid season if we need to aquire more talent at positions needed ie. Molden.
4) I would assume they are open to trades for Pip, and others. But if nothing surfaces then as of Wednesday the cuts will be made. It's a long process. The amount of panic on day one of negotiations is mind blowing. Y'all need to calm the fuck down and relax. Last year because we got Alt and not Nabers we were suddenly a 7-10 team or worse. Same people as last year are the ones panicking now. It'll all be ok
