FACT CHECK:

YS Jagan Reddy is using UDISE data to blame the AP govt for the fall in government school students. But look at the full data, including what happened during his own government.

Jagan claims: Government school students fell from around 40.50 lakh in 2023-24 to 34.93 lakh in 2025-26, while private schools gained students.

That fall is real. But it didn’t start with the NDA.

Look at how many students government schools lost each year:

2021-22 → 2022-23: 4.40 lakh
2022-23 → 2023-24: 2.06 lakh
2023-24 → 2024-25: 4.07 lakh
2024-25 → 2025-26: 1.50 lakh
2025-26 → 2026-27: just 31,179

Government schools were already losing lakhs of students during the Jagan government.

Now look at the latest 2026-27 data.

Government schools lost just 31,179 students, compared to 1.50 lakh the previous year.

Private schools, meanwhile, lost 2.24 lakh students in 2026-27.

As a result:

Govt school share: 41.40% → 42.34% ↑
Private school share: 57.47% → 56.57% ↓

For the first time in this six-year table, government schools have increased their share of AP’s students.

So the facts are simple.

The decline didn’t begin under Nara Lokesh. What has happened under the NDA is that the annual loss has fallen sharply, and government schools have finally started regaining enrolment share.

Jagan’s post stops at 2025-26. The latest 2026-27 data completes the picture.

These are official figures placed before the AP Legislative Council.

అయితే కొందరు వాస్తవాలు తెలుసుకోకుండా, తమ స్వార్థ ప్రయోజనాల కోసం ప్రజలను తప్పుదోవ పట్టించేలా అవాస్తవాలను ప్రచారం చేస్తున్నారు. ఇది పూర్తిగా వ్యక్తుల మధ్య జరిగిన మోసానికి సంబంధించిన కేసు. దీనికి ప్రభుత్వానికి గానీ, ఎలాంటి రాజకీయ నాయకులతో గానీ ఎటువంటి సంబంధం లేదు. తప్పుడు వార్తలు, పుకార్లు వ్యాప్తి చేయడం నేరం. కాబట్టి ఇటువంటి సమాచారాన్ని నమ్మే ముందు, షేర్ చేసే ముందు వాస్తవాలను సరిచూసుకోవాల్సిందిగా విజ్ఞప్తి.

I’ve been seeing several comments suggesting that travelling from Bhogapuram Airport to Visakhapatnam or Anakapalle could take nearly two hours.

I would like to share my own experience. I travelled on the usual route and it took me around 45 minutes to reach Visakhapatnam and about 1 hour 10 minutes to reach Anakapalle.

Travel time can naturally vary depending on the starting point, traffic conditions and the route taken. However, based on my experience, the journey was considerably shorter than the two hours being discussed.

As connectivity and supporting infrastructure continue to improve, I am confident that the travel experience will become even smoother and more convenient.

Bhogapuram Airport is an important milestone for North Andhra and a gateway to greater opportunities for the region. Let us look ahead to the possibilities this new connectivity can bring.
