🚨 Electronics overview in India, 2023.

1. Foxconn announced investment up to $2.7 billion to set up a new unit in Bengaluru to make smartphone accessories.

2. Japanese electronic parts maker TDK Corp said it will manufacture lithium ion battery cells for iPhones in India.

3. Panasonic announced a 300 crore additional investment to increase its capacity at its unit in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.

4. Intel has partnered with several Indian companies to accelerate laptop manufacturing in India.

5. Apple plans to invest $40 billion in India over the next five years, to a fivefold increase of its production.

6. Gorilla glass maker Corning announced 1,000 crore facility in Tamil Nadu.

7. Google announced that it will start manufacturing the Pixel 8 in India from 2024.

8. Google also announced local production of Chromebooks in partnership with HP.

9. Tesla is closing in on an agreement to set up a factory within two years in India.

10. Vietnamese EV maker VinFast Auto, deemed Tesla's rival, is also looking for land in India to set up its planned manufacturing facility especially in Tamil Nadu.
