2. Jamming or Denying Electronic Signals:
Blackouts may include electronic signal suppression to prevent:
Enemy surveillance or hacking
Drone guidance
Precision strikes using GPS

3. Protection from Cyber Attacks:

Blacking out internet or comms reduces the risk of cyber warfare (e.g., hacking power grids or critical infrastructure).

4. Military Movement Concealment:

Troop movements or vehicle convoys are harder to track without active digital footprints or city lights aiding visual surveillance.
5. Civilian Safety:

Prevents panic-inducing media or miscommunication.
Makes civilians less of a target by minimizing exposure.

While GPS provides location data, it can be:

Jammed or spoofed during electronic warfare.
