A client received an ASMT-10 notice alleging a ₹17 lakh mismatch between GSTR-3B and GTSR-1. When we actually reconciled the figures, there was not even a ₹1 difference. The officer called us, said a notice has been issued, and asked us to come meet him in person. We explained there is no discrepancy whatsoever and that we had already filed a proper reply. The officer responded, "How is this possible? We received this data from above." We requested him to simply check the portal — there is zero difference. If this is not taxpayer harassment, then what is ???????
