Securing water infrastructure remains a key milestone in building resilience, marked by the completion of irrigation dams under the Finna Oromia Irrigation Projects in Gomole Woreda of Borena Zone. In Dese Gora, for example, this critical infrastructure has created a massive water storage capacity of more than 190 million cubic meters, ensuring a reliable and sustainable water supply. The projects have the potential to irrigate over 14,500 hectares of agricultural land, directly supporting households, strengthening food production, and securing water resources for livestock.
@neba_tdf This place is infamous for accidents, almost every week ( Specially Saturday Night) you will find a car here.
Even Sadly one of our car met with accident by our driver here due to heavy rain and no proper marking about the divider.
This divider needs some serious attention.
A 66-year-old retired clerk from Ahmedabad is delivering on Blinkit, and he has no plans to stop.
Dinesh Mahant Thakordas spent 26 years at a life insurance company, raised a family, and built a stable life. He and his wife have three children, all well-settled. With no financial pressure, most expected him to slow down.
Instead, after spotting a delivery partner in his neighbourhood, curiosity turned into action, and he signed up.
For the past two years, he has been delivering on his own terms and has completed 10,220 orders.
Every rupee he earns goes toward travelling to new cities, states, and countries, something he hopes to keep doing for as long as possible.
For Dinesh, living life on his own terms means rising at 5:00 am, reaching the dark store by 6:00 am, and wrapping up his preferred morning shift by 11:30 am — logging back in only if he feels like it.
"Experience is the greatest school master."

In Pune, a daily wage worker admitted his wife to the hospital for delivery. It turned out to be a cesarean section. He didn’t know how much the fee would be and thought he might have to mortgage his house. “Doctor, what child is it?”
“You have been blessed with an angel (a baby girl),” the doctor replied. “How much is the fee?” “When angels are born, I don’t charge any fee,” said the doctor. The man fell at his feet saying, “Sir, you are God.”
Dr. Ganesh Rakh in Pune has been doing this for 10 years—he does not take even a single paisa if a baby girl is born. So far, he has delivered over 1,000 babies for free.
His mother told him once, ‘Become a doctor and protect these angel girls,’” he proudly says.
Dr. Rakh’s Save the Girl Child initiative has transcended borders and inspired change globally.
Stay blessed, Doctor!

#Ethiopia is the first country in the world to ban imports of non-Electric Vehicles (EV), since January 2024.
It’s now building an advanced EV charging infrastructure. The country has one of the world’s cheapest electricity costs per kWh. Almost 100% of Ethiopia’s energy is clean, green and renewable all sourced locally from hydro, solar, wind, etc.
Yesterday I visited a sleek new ultra fast charging station (video) capable of fully charging EVs within 15 minutes. It was installed by Ethiotelecom (the country’s largest telco), on the side of a newly rebuilt very modern ten-lane highway, in the capital city Addis Abeba. The entire charging process is efficient and hi-tech with payment via a mobile phone app.
A large number of new EVs can now be seen on Addis’s streets. The vast majority are Chinese such as BYD. There are also European and Japanese brands such as VW and Toyota but made in China. Have seen several Teslas including a Cybertruk.
An emerging market African economy showing the world the innovative future of EV transportation. Very impressive!
As the saying goes: Necessity is the mother of invention and innovation. In the case of Ethiopia, the innovative EV strategy was necessitated partly due to the fact that the country is a net oil importer to the tune of up to $6.0 billion annually and, in some years until recently, exceeding the country’s entire annual merchandise export FX earnings.
