Winnipeg has come too far on our journey of reconciliation to turn the clock back.
Standing up for Canada means fighting to build a more inclusive city for all including Indigenous peoples. Most Winnipeggers understand this & it’s why this candidate will once again lose. #wpg22
Oct. 4 is the National Day of Action for MMIWG. Here is your reminder that the national inquiry’s calls for justice outlines several steps that journalists can take to help end violence against Indigenous women, girls & gender diverse people.

Today a young First Nations man died in Onigaming.
911 was called. The ambulance parked at the edge of our reserve + wouldn't come help.
As his family provided chest compressions, the paramedics let this young man die.
This is racism.
One of my friends on Facebook pointed out the difference between APTN and Citynews. I always wonder how many people it passes by before it publishes. I'm guessing at least 3.
Girls Night & Young Moms participants recently went Sage picking.
There are many uses for sage, including smudging.
The girls & young women learned how to identify sage that is growing freely in parks & other areas in the province.

@AveryFrancis Good point. I think the issue with the comment is comparing someone with substance use disorder with someone who is openly practicing harm/violence against women (AT)
🤮🤮🤮🤮 one of eleven mayoral candidates in what was once dubbed the most racist city in colonial Canada - I wonder if she knows that this land existed before July 1, 1867? #LANDBACK
On July 1st, I will be proudly celebrating Canada's birthday because I love my country unconditionally. I guess I can't do that at the Forks because I've recently learned that it’s canceled.
PS - I'm currently accepting invitations to all actual Canada Day parties.

Today is Red Dress Day. I just wanted to share a reminder that the national inquiry’s calls for justice outline several steps that journalists & media outlets can take to help end violence against Indigenous women and girls. #RedDressDay#MMIWG2S#mmiwg
The Canadian government is arguing in court that UNDRIP is a "contextual" and "interpretive aid only"—and that neither it nor the new UNDRIP act can be used to strike down new federal laws that may violate them.
