Vipin Kumar is an Indian construction worker in Romania.

One day, while he was walking near Nicolae Romanescu Park in Craiova, he saw a girl slip through a thin layer of ice and start struggling in the sub-zero water. Her father tried to reach her but became trapped in the broken ice.

Without any hesitation, Vipin used a nearby sledge to slide toward her. When the ice broke beneath him as well, he plunged into the freezing water, managed to grab the child, and held her above the surface for nearly 30 minutes until emergency crews arrived.

Both Vipin and the girl suffered severe hypothermia and were rushed to the hospital, where they received treatment.

Romania granted honorary citizenship to Vipin Kumar for his bravery and for risking his own life to save the girl.

Nowadays, social media is filled with hate against India, and Indians are increasingly being targeted. But when stories like this emerge, they rarely receive the same attention. They are not shared as widely, and somewhere along the way, these stories get buried and forgotten.

🚶 BENGALURU'S FOOTPATHS ARE GETTING THEIR SPACE BACK

From July 1–10, the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is running a 'Safe Footpath Campaign' across 1,000 km of road network — clearing encroachments from footpaths in all five city corporations.

📊 WHY THIS MATTERS

30% of every 1,000 road accident deaths in Bengaluru are pedestrians. The Supreme Court has been clear: walking on a footpath safely is a fundamental right, not a privilege.

🚫 WHAT'S BEING CLEARED
➡Illegal parking on footpaths (vehicles will be towed)
➡Name boards, chairs, tables, and kiosks blocking pedestrian paths
➡Vendors and shops spilling onto walkways

✅ HOW IT'S BEING DONE
➡Notices will be issued before any action — not a sudden crackdown
➡Action will follow the Street Vendors' Protection Act and SC guidelines
➡Municipal officers, police, and clearance teams will coordinate
➡Damaged slabs and kerbs will be repaired alongside clearance

It follows the #1KmChallenge encouraging people to walk short distances instead of driving — Bengaluru is trying to become more walkable, one footpath at a time.

Most of our Generation has Diabetes, Cancer & High Cholesterol because in last 20-30 years there has been maximum consumption of Added Sugars, Palm Oil & Chemicals Additives & Colors. Every advertisement targetted children to consume such products. Parents also fell for unethical marketing strategies, something which shouldn't have been allowed in India.

If FSSAI team immediately puts restrictions on High Sugar Products, Bans Palm Oil & Encourages Brands to Avoid Colors, we can hope for a Healthier Generation. They need to be strict about it. No compromise.

I also suggest that Team @fssaiindia bans Children from consuming products with high Added Sugar. Create Awareness. Use our Tax Money to Educate Youngsters.
