He played a total of 2 more games after his home debut yet City have managed to sell him at a profit. There isn’t a human being with an IQ above room temperature that believes this is legitimate, it’s completely ridiculous. Now, I’m not suggesting Utd are a paragon of virtue and they wouldn’t do the same if they could but they haven’t. There is simply no way James Trafford’ transfer value increased last season, it’s patently ridiculous

If City sign Ayyoub Bouaddi & Enzo Fernandez, they will have signed 20 players for a whopping £849.8m since January 2025.

Not only that, somehow they manage to sell failed signings like Trafford & Reijnders for profit despite only joining a year ago.

Considering they are accused of paying players & managers off the books, it's not a stretch to believe they do the same with clubs.

This is all while they have the greatest cheating scandal in English football history hanging over them with 115/130 charges pending.

Personally, I’m not too arsed with these quiet couple of weeks amid signing a LB & a busier CM profile

Simple reason being we got the possession-oriented midfielders (Tielemans + the Santos 6 project) in and got them integrated into pre-season. That was crucial

By nature, those are the profiles you need gelled; both in terms of tactics and possession dynamics. You need to build those relationships. Get some understanding going in spacing, angles, passing preferences, automatisms, and so on..

However, a left back who can overlap + drive around the outside along with a more conventional #8 (busy enforcer/b2b type) naturally need less easing in, tactically. Roles are far more plug-in-and-play; less reliant on intricacy + on-ball dynamics

That’s the only reason I haven’t been moaning tbf. I don’t think the lateness on these profiles will undercook the team tactically.

That said, I’ll be furious if we don’t finish the window with a Lewis Hall type + a bit of legs in midfield. The wait better be for negotiation + haggling purposes. Not allowing themselves to be a soft touch in the market. Not getting them in would be amateur
