My son tried out for his high school basketball team three years in a row and got cut every time. He's a good kid, but he's five foot six and not very fast, and the third time it broke his heart. He'd practiced every single day that summer. He came home from the final cut list and went straight to his room. The next morning, the coach called our house and asked to talk to him. He said he had a problem.
Everyone talking about noses. When I broke my nose against Dulwich Hamlet in 2020, gaffer told me the girls are gna love it. Went to pick up home girl the next day and she screamed kmt. She didn’t love it
A lot to unpack here.
The FG did grow revenue by more than 100% to ₦6.2trn (from ₦3.6trn). The increase came from higher oil receipts and stronger tax collections.
But interest payments on debt stood at ₦7.7trn, therefore, gulping the entire revenue generated.
The FG spent ₦16.1trn. This means that, aside from interest payments on debt, the FG spent ₦8.4trn on other activities (i.e., recurring and capex).
Of the ₦8.4trn allocated to other activities, ₦700bn went to capital expenditure, while the rest went to recurrent expenditure (including payrolls and overheads).
In effect, fresh borrowings of ₦7.7trn were spent on recurrent expenditure.
If I wanted to be “mischievous”, I’d have said ₦7.7trn was borrowed to pay salaries (which is not false, by the way). But I won’t do that. That’s not my objective.
So in summary, the government is fetching water into a “basket”. The harder they work to “make things happen”, the more the ghost of the past haunts.
And from the looks of things, this may be the best the FG can do. But the jury is out.
Missing the obvious play to save a *depreciating* asset is bad management across any industry. Probably also cost Arsenal a title and the cost (nominal and opportunity) of replacing both the CF and LW positions. Idk why people lie to drive their agendas.
Speed of play is so funny. Bar Odegaard, you could make a good argument that the Arsenal team is better suited to a mid block with quicker passes into space. The team doesn’t have enough players with guile to consistently play the way they do.
8/10 game for Noni. Doesn’t make enough sharp runs in behind to be great on the left, but maybe that’s a microcosm of the speed we play at anyway. He always plays aggressively which is always helpful. G/A is the next step
With Noni off the left today, I expect/hope to see a different usage of Calafiori. Given the unfavourable angles and Noni’s limited passing, Calafiori occupying those pockets would be a waste of time. The box midfield with Cala in possession seems the most reasonable approach.
If Michelangelo was around today, how would he design a contemporary typeface?
Introducing Michelangelus, a contemporary serif shaped by the artist’s manuscripts, gestures, and monumental artwork.

Reminds me of that joke about how a physicist dies and goes to Heaven, upon which he asks God why He made the speed of light as arbitrary as 186,282 miles per second.
“What do you mean?” God replies. “The speed of light is 1.”
