India has carried out the successful launch of Intermediate Range Agni-Prime Missile from a Rail based Mobile launcher system. This next generation missile is designed to cover a range up to 2000 km and is equipped with various advanced features.

The first-of-its-kind launch carried out from specially designed Rail based Mobile Launcher, has the capability to move on Rail network without any pre-conditions that allows User to have a cross country mobility and launch within a short reaction time with reduced visibility.

Congratulations to @DRDO_India, Strategic Forces Command (SFC) and the Armed Forces on successful test of Intermediate Range Agni-Prime missile. This successful flight test has put India in the group of select nations having capabilities that have developed canisterised launch system from on the move rail network.

Disappointing to see the rollback on #lateralentry in UPSC. It is the perfect complement to career-bureaucrats who take performance for granted.
Serves as a healthy dose of competition from experts and specialists in domains.

I would go so far as to say that periodically,
1. The under-performers (assess post 15 years) should be retired and replaced!
2. Career bureaucrats must be allowed to choose specific domains in their 10th year & given in-service advanced training to equip them to perform in the chosen domain( health/ education/ infrastructural/ urban..) for the rest of their service. No posting outside of this domain specific role should be considered.

Yesterday in Srinagar, I had the opportunity to meet talented youngsters of Jammu and Kashmir who are doing pioneering work in StartUps. Here are the highlights from the interaction.

The Main auditorium is the plenary hall for the Convention Center and is equipped with a seating capacity of  around 6,000 guests. The auditorium has one of the most innovative automated seating systems which allows the floor to be a flat floor or an auditorium style tiered seating for different seating configurations. It provides The Wooden floors and the acoustic wall panels used in the auditorium will ensure the world class experience for the visitor. 

The Grand Ballroom, with a unique petal ceiling, can host around 2,500 guests. It also has an extended open area that can seat up to 500 people. The 13 meeting rooms that are spread across eight floors are envisaged  to hold a variety of meetings of different scales.   

YashoBhoomi also offers one of the largest Exhibition halls in the world.  These Exhibition halls, built across over 1.07 lakh square metres, will be utilised for hosting exhibitions, trade fairs, and business events, are connected to a grand foyer space which is uniquely designed with copper ceiling which filters light in the space through the various skylights. Foyer will house various support areas such as Media rooms, VVIP lounges, Cloak facilities, visitor information centre, ticketing among others.

जब तक हम यहाँ ट्विटर पर थे, तब तक मुस्लिम पक्ष सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुँचा कि बजरंग दल और VHP की रैली पर रोक लगे। 2 बजे सुनवाई कराई और कोर्ट से यह निर्देश निकलवा लिया कि उत्तर प्रदेश, हरियाणा और दिल्ली की सरकारें ‘हेट स्पीच’ न होने दें।

CJI को कम से कम तीन बार बोला गया कि यह एक विकट आपातकाल की स्थिति है और उनका हस्तक्षेप अत्यावश्यक है। कहा गया कि इन रैलियों को रोका जाए, इन नरसंहार के नारे लग रहे हैं। एक साथ 11 रैलियाँ हो रही हैं।

ASG समेत तीनों राज्यों को नोटिस दिया गया कि आप यह सुनिश्चित करें कि कोई हिंसा न हो, कोई हेट स्पीच न हो, सार्वजनिक संपत्ति की क्षति न हो।

क्या कोई हमारी तरफ से यह याचिका ले कर गया कि हिन्दू समुदाय के हर पर्व पर तथाकथित ‘संवेदनशील क्षेत्रों’ से गुजरने पर हिंसा होती है? किसी ने यह सोचा कि इस पैटर्न को सुप्रीम कोर्ट के इसी CJI के समक्ष लाना आवश्यक है? या हम पहले ही मान चुके हैं कि इसमें कुछ होना तो है नहीं, जा कर भी क्या फायदा?
