Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby, who is under NCAA investigation for making bets via a gambling app, has retained the noted lawyer Jeffrey Kessler to try to regain his college eligibility, sources tell me and @PeteThamel.

If Sorsby and Kessler are unsuccessful in finding a path to eligibility, declaring for the NFL’s supplemental draft then would become an option. Sorsby would have until June 30 to declare for the supplemental draft.

Notre Dame beat Purdue by 26. The #1 team in the Big Ten - Ohio State - beat Purdue by 24. That's Purdue's two worst losses of the season by margin.

Notre Dame beat Arkansas by 43. The #1 team in the SEC - Texas A&M - beat Arkansas by 3. In fact, the 5 SEC teams beat Arkansas by a combined 24 points. Just over half of what ND beat them by.

The point? Elite teams tend to beat teams by comparable margins, and he knows this.

Want to know why Texas is ranked behind Notre Dame? How about the fact they lost to a 3-6 Florida team that isn't even in the Top 10 of their league. I like how that continues to get ignored. Florida beat Texas by twice as many points as ND lost to Miami and Texas A&M .... combined.

Oh yeah, and Texas led for a grand total of 0 seconds in that game and the only tie was 0-0 to start.
