@ConsoomerLs It happened to me a few years ago. They kept changing the joining date and then canceled the contract. In the process I lost over a month and it took me quite a while to get the next gig as the gap kept getting bigger. One of the worst years of my professional life.

@niketan_r @drippingashes Another reason for this was that during this period Kishore da had become quite a success as an actor himself and hence was singing mostly for himself. It was only when his career as an actor started dwindling that he came back to singing for Dada.

@drippingashes You are Dev sahab's fan like me so you already know this but before 1965, Rafi sahab and Kishore da were like 50-40 (and a few Talat and Hemant Da) but as RD started having more influence on SD (as assistant), Kishore da started singing for Dev sahab more and more.

@loveofcinemasf8 The greatest quality Kishore da had was to "let himself go", without any self consciousness. According to the book by Derek Bose, the legendary director Phani Majumdar said about Kishore da to Ashok Kumar "...only he can manage what he does". Difficult to find such a person.

@SHEKARSUSHEEL This is partially true. Yes, as a playback, he sang most songs with SD (On Dev Sahab) in his earlier days but he was primarily an actor then and acted in around 80-90 films. Madan Mohan composed for 7 of his films, C Ramchandra, salil chowdhuri, OP, SJ, LP... almost all.
