So ends the hiding to nothing that was NF's first managerial role. Pragmatic, often not pretty, with a squad that wasn't scoring before he took over either, "backed" by sections of the fan base with whom he could never have won.
Next appointment is crucial. Just like the last 5.
The Club can confirm that Nicky Featherstone will step down from his role as First Team Manager at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.

@IsaacHUFC In front of the back 4, we're worse than we were a year ago, our recruitment pre-NF wasn't good enough, our players go into hiding at the first hint of pressure or expectation. NF not at all perfect, of course, but this squad is not good enough to be further up than we are.
@IsaacHUFC People, including in these replies, not realising we don't have Mani D, Grey, or Cleary, but we do have the same midfield that struggled to create chances for them. Even our promising start had few goals, and Cartwright keeping us in matches, which says what about the squad?
@Adobson1417 I had a go at a few people around me on this - it's worked for us both matches against them, and was very obviously working today, but the vibe was that we'd prefer to see people charging out of position in the name of 'effort'. Thick as mince.
@JackHUFCC Both matches against them, we've let the keeper carry it a distance, then knock it onto our centre half's head. No idea why Rochdale specifically lend themselves to that strategy but ridiculously, it does seem to work.
@Official_HUFC Rochdale still unable to figure out a way around us sitting in two banks and letting their keeper carry it 45 yards (which nobody booed when we did it in the away game...). Plenty of effort, Kougoun and Hunter excellent, but in the end, two teams cancelling each other out.
@Official_HUFC I can completely get fans seeing a defeat coming. I did too. But if you're posting here and honestly, genuinely foresaw Wealdstone getting 7 against us while our squad just stood and watched them do it, drop me a DM - I want to go halves on your acca this weekend.
@MartinOverend@Official_HUFC On this evidence, I'm one player registration form away from getting a start in midfield at the weekend, so every cloud and all that.
