The Lakers never deserved LeBron James. Some of us remember the summer of 2018. When LeBron James, the best player in the world, chose to sign with a franchise that was the laughing stock of the league. They hadn’t sniffed the playoffs in five years. And they welcomed the best player in the world by surrounding him with the infant versions of Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma and Brandon Ingram as his teammates. He helped bring in Anthony Davis. The same Anthony Davis that helped bring in Luka Doncic. They won the Cup. They won a championship. Their first title in a decade. Over the course of the next eight seasons, we watched as Lakers fans blamed LeBron for everything when their season fell short even though he was playing at an All-NBA level. His loyalty was questioned, even though he fulfilled every contract to the end. We saw the front office sit on their hands with draft capital. We saw the front office prioritize future cap space instead of rolling the dice every year. We saw them waste prime years with AD. Now, we see Lakers fan celebrating as he walks out the door after bringing the franchise back to relevancy. He was never appreciated as much as he should have been.
No, THANK YOU! Truly a honor to wear the 💜💛 while trying to continuing the greatness & legacies that came before me! Hope I made a few proud during my stint. 🙏🏾🫡👑

There is something ancient about watching a fallen king walk back into the arena.
Not because he is guaranteed to win.
But because most people never attempt a return once the world has seen them fail.
Conor McGregor was never merely a fighter.
He was an event.
For a time, the sport seemed to orbit around him.
Then came the losses.
The injuries.
The distractions.
The aura cracked.
The inevitability disappeared.
And perhaps that is why his return fascinates people.
Not because they expect him to reclaim everything he once possessed.
But because they understand what a return demands.
To walk back into the place where you were wounded.
To stand before the same audience that witnessed your fall.
To risk failure twice.
Most people never do this.
They accept the story that was written about them.
The chapter becomes the conclusion.
The wound becomes the person.
The king who returns refuses that bargain.
He may be finished.
He may be delusional.
Time may have already taken what it came for.
But he steps into the arena anyway.
And there is something admirable about that.
Because greatness is not measured only by victory.
It is also measured by the willingness to continue after the world has stopped believing.
The arena has always belonged to those willing to return.
Not after success is guaranteed.
But after the fall.
(2018) Celtics coach Brad Stevens reacts to LeBron's Game 7 masterclass in Boston:
"I thought it was an outstanding defensive game and again he still got 35/15/9... it’s a joke… it’s ridiculous.”
Here’s LeBron (same age as Wemby) scoring 29 of the Cavs final 30 points, including the game winner to close out a double overtime game on the road in the ECF 2007.
Literally held above his head (300+ playoff games) . But he took the fork in the road and never looked back! Take a listen…. 7 years later here’s 2018 playoffs conference semis vs raptors (Dwayne Casey was coy) s/o LG.
Checking in on the NBA’s old timers…
Durant’s flirting with 10 turnovers in his first playoff game as a Rocket.
Steph’s at Coachella.
Kawhi’s planting trees.
LeBron is averaging 39 MPG & 24-8-10 to go up 2-0 without his team’s 2 leading scorers.

LeBron James on being a Swiss Army Knife.
(@mindthegamepod)
“It helps for me to be a Swiss Army Knife when it comes to being a basketball player. I never gave myself a moment where ‘you’re going to be a scorer - you’re going to be just that.’
Put me on the floor and I can make things happen. I’m a ball player. Lakers need a point guard? All right, I’ll do it this year - leading the league in assists. You want me to play center? All right, I’ll play center. You need me to play the three?
What do you guys need? I go to Miami - the ball is less in my hands. I need to slash more.
I think that’s one of the things people have misjudged about me as a basketball player is that I can adapt to any role or position. I just happen to be really fuc*ing good at this thing.”
LeBron HATES the refs 😂
“It's over for me… I used to get calls, I don't get calls anymore.
Every time the same thing: The refs look at me like ‘We didn’t see it’ or ‘It was marginal’”
