This is a betrayal of thousands of international students.

We enrolled before the May 15, 2024 PGWP policy deadline, made life-changing decisions, paid tens of thousands of dollars in tuition, and followed every rule that was published by the Government of Canada. Now, many of us have been refused PGWPs based on a policy that changed after we committed our futures to Canada.

Now, after we fulfilled our part, thousands of students are facing PGWP refusals, loss of legal status, loss of employment, financial devastation, and uncertainty about their future. This is not just an administrative issue—it is a human crisis.

Who is accountable for this? IRCC? The Government? Or the colleges that admitted students under the previous rules?

Why should students pay thousands more in legal fees to fix a problem they did not create? Why are innocent students being forced to bear the consequences of policy changes they had no control over?

This is not the fairness Canada promised. This is not justice.

We demand an immediate review of all affected PGWP refusals, a clear public explanation, restoration of legal status for impacted students while cases are reviewed, and a fair solution for everyone affected.

Thousands of lives and dreams are at stake. We will not stay silent.
