I mean no disrespect to the Kelpies, but they wouldn’t be top of my list of hard-done-by national teams. Maybe my bar is too low but it seems common and it’s okay (and nice) to have casual/viral fans?

You seem cross that it’s the first point of contact, and that you’d prefer otherwise - I don’t necessarily agree

To tell a woman in sport (a journalist no less) that she isn’t supporting marginalised sportspeople, especially given the absolute vitriol she receives for her journalism in the space, feels a bit tone deaf. Pick on someone who isn’t doing the work for the little guys/gals?

1. the dances at Fast 5 create a spectacle, and more eyes on netty- is this not the point of a charismatic tournament? A fun little dance at a fun comp is a good way to get more interest and attention, I don’t know why you’d dislike that
