Seasonal flu kills around 1000 people a day around the world. COVID-19 is killing 1000 a day in the USA alone. Even if fatality rates are close, we need to slow this down more urgently than an emerging flu

Based on absolute non-scientific BS gut feeling, I think at the end of the day we will find COVID-19 has a death rate similar to seasonal flu. But we will also discover fatality rate isn’t everything

Because there is zero immunity to this, it seems to have a much higher attack rate than the flu. It is killing a lot of people

I think Saudi Arabia is growing as a society much faster than most people realize

One country I find surprising in the middle of all this is Saudi Arabia. Their response has been responsible, humane, apolitical, and devoid of propaganda. Real strange for the gulf region where monstrous xenophobia and racism is a norm

I do agree though that China might try to briefly hide a second wave if there is any. Which is why maybe right now take what they say with a slight grain of salt

Recall that at some point China did something nobody else has done since: count clinically diagnosed cases as confirmed. That lead to a 50% jump in cases in one day. If they wanted to hide numbers, why did they do that
