🚨 Hansi Flick on Anthony Gordon’s performances for England:
“I remember when Anthony first arrived at Barcelona, there were people who asked me what exactly I wanted to change about him.
I said, ‘Hopefully, very little.’
The speed was already there. The courage was there. He could run at defenders all evening.
What we had to teach him was that sometimes the most dangerous run is the one where you don’t receive the ball.
Anthony hated hearing that.
He said, ‘So you want me to run and nobody passes to me?’
I said, ‘Yes.’
He looked at me like Barcelona had signed him to become a marathon runner.
Now I watch England against Croatia.
For Bellingham’s goal, Anthony gets into the right area, controls the ball and gives Jude exactly what he needs.
Then later he makes another run and scores himself.
One goal. One assist. First half.
And everybody is talking about how good Anthony Gordon has been again.
Again.
That’s the important word.
There was a time when Gordon producing a performance like this for England would’ve created surprise.
Now if he goes 90 minutes without creating something, people will probably start asking what’s wrong with him.
That’s development.
People think Barcelona taught him some secret Spanish football.
No.
We just convinced a very fast footballer that he didn’t have to play every action at full speed.
Sometimes arrive early. Sometimes arrive late. Sometimes make the run for somebody else.
And when the moment belongs to you, be Anthony Gordon again.
Although after his goal tonight, perhaps I shouldn’t praise the finishing too much. I also saw the chance he missed earlier.
When he comes back, I’ll show him that one first.
He’ll complain, ‘Coach, I scored.’
I’ll tell him, ‘Exactly. So now I know you can do it.’
England are beginning to understand what we’ve understood for a while.
Anthony isn’t the player you bring on because the match needs energy anymore.
Hes becoming one of the players you start because the match needs Anthony Gordon.”
🚨JÜRGEN KLOPP CRITICIZES XABI ALONSO FOR USING REECE JAMES AS MID-FIELDER.
🎙️ Reporter: “Jürgen, what do you think about Xabi Alonso using Reece James in midfield?”
🗣️ Klopp:
“Honestly, I don’t understand it. Reece James is a fantastic footballer, but he is not a midfielder.
Yes, he can pass. Yes, he is strong. Yes, he can step into midfield during possession. But that doesn’t suddenly make him a natural midfielder.
Football isn’t about putting your best players wherever you have a problem. It’s about putting them where they can hurt the opponent most.
Reece is one of the best right-backs when he’s fit. His crossing, physicality, defensive ability and attacking movement are weapons. Why would you take all of that away from the right side just because you have a midfield problem?
🎙️ Reporter: “So do you think Alonso is making a mistake?”
🗣️ Klopp:
“I think Xabi is a very intelligent coach, but sometimes intelligent coaches overthink football.
If Chelsea need another midfielder, buy one. Don’t turn Reece James into something he isn’t.
A right-back stepping into midfield is one thing. Making him responsible for controlling midfield every week is completely different.
And against teams like Arsenal, you will eventually get punished if your midfield doesn’t naturally understand those spaces.
Reece James isn’t the problem. The problem is asking your right-back to solve your midfield problem.
If I were Alonso, I’d put Reece at right-back, let him play his football, and build the midfield around actual midfielders.
Simple.”
🎙️ Klopp: “You don’t need to reinvent Reece James. Just let Reece James be Reece James.”

TRADING WITH GOD 1
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. - (Galatians 6:7)
READ: 2 Chronicles 1:6-15
Some years ago, a member of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International declared that he would cover the cost of every evangelistic programme held in his chapter throughout that year, and everyone agreed. Later that year, the man shared the testimonies about what the Lord had done for him as a result of his giving, and the other members of the fellowship were truly amazed. Then, he offered to cover all the costs of the chapter's evangelistic programmes for the next year, but other members of the fellowship said in unison, "No way!" They also wanted to partake of the blessings that come with giving and didn't want the man to enjoy them alone.
In today's Bible reading, we read that Solomon sowed a thousand burnt offerings as a sacrifice to God, and that night, God appeared to him and asked what he wanted. Solomon asked for the gift of wisdom. God granted his request and also gave him unparalleled riches, wealth, and honour. Solomon was so blessed that the Bible tells us in (2 Chronicles 7:5) that when he gave another offering, he sacrificed 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep!
One of the many beautiful things about trading with God is that God can never owe any man. If you give Him something, He will repay you monumentally. Nobody trades with God and suffers a loss. Hebrews 11:6 calls Him a rewarder of them who diligently seek Him. John 6:5-13 tells us the story of a boy who offered his five loaves of bread and two small fishes for Jesus to feed the multitudes. What happened next was that he witnessed one of the greatest miracles of all time, as he watched his tiny lunch multiply to feed thousands. Apart from that, he also received twelve baskets of leftover food, which I believe were given to him since it was his lunch that was used to feed the multitude. A child who came with a little lunch pack suddenly needed the help of adults to carry baskets of food back to his house.
Beloved, Ephesians 3:20 says that God can do exceeding abundantly above all that you can ask or think. This clearly shows that you can never trade with God and become worse for it. Whatever you give to God will be given back to you in multiple folds, far beyond your wildest imagination.
KEY POINT:
Nobody trades with God and suffers a loss.

🚨 Pep Guardiola on Rayan Cherki succeeding Kevin De Bruyne:
🗣️ Reporter:
“You really thought Cherki could succeed De Bruyne?”
🗣️ Pep:
“Of course. That’s why we signed him. Otherwise I would have saved the money. Replace Kevin? No. You don’t replace Kevin De Bruyne. Kevin is Kevin. There is nobody like him.
But Rayan has something different. He sees the pass, he can create, but then sometimes he decides passing is boring and tries to dribble through everybody instead.
I call him my Messi midfielder. Not because he’s Messi, please, tomorrow you’ll make the headline. [laughs] But he has that little street football arrogance I love.
Look at him against Palace. One goal, he goes through three or four players like he’s looking for somewhere to park. Then another one from outside the box.
“He arrived last season and needed time. Now he’s starting to understand why we gave him the number 10. The dangerous thing is I think he’s starting to enjoy it.”

PRAY FOR YOUR CHILDREN
As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. - (Psalm 127:4)
READ: 1 Kings 1:15-31
In (1 Kings 1:1-49), one of King David's sons decided to crown himself king by staging a coup to overthrow his father. Solomon's mother was informed of the development, so she went to David and reminded him that he had promised that her son would succeed him as king. That same day, Solomon was crowned king meaning that Israel had three kings on that fateful day: David, Solomon, and the son who decided to make himself king. Solomon might not even have been aware of the events that led to his coronation; however, because his mother rose and entreated the king on his behalf, he was crowned king.
There are certain things that children might miss if their parents don't rise to pray for them. A child may not know his or her left from right and may not even be qualified for an exalted position; however, his or her parents' prayers can elevate that child into that position. The authority that parents have over their children, both naturally and spiritually, is great, and they must learn to use it effectively. Any parent who does not pray for his or her child is like a mother hen who watches as a hawk carries her chick away, leaving the chick to fight for itself. The chick lacks sufficient strength to fight a hawk; however, if its mother joins in the fight, it would have a better chance of being saved.
If you are a parent, do not keep quiet over your children's destiny so that the devil will not tamper with it. Cry out to God to show your children mercy early in their lives. In Psalm 90:14, Moses prayed that God should satisfy him and the children of Israel early with His mercy so that they would rejoice and be glad all the days of their lives. He knew that the secret to lasting joy and gladness was to start enjoying God's mercy early in life.
Beloved, if you are a parent, do not neglect your spiritual responsibility over your children. Like Moses, ask God to show your children His mercy early in their lives. Let your prayers position them for opportunities early in life. Your children will begin to enjoy supernatural favour that some people only get to experience as adults if you pray for them now. I pray that God will shower His mercies over you and your household, in Jesus' name.
KEY POINT:
Parents should not neglect their spiritual responsibility over their children.
