In investing, a critical mental model to internalize is the distinction between signal and noise.
This goes far beyond filtering out the daily chatter on financial media or social platforms; even highly compelling, granular data points can lack true signaling power if they are driven by randomness or based on a shallow weight of evidence.
Thus, every investor must constantly ask:
What is the actual predictive power of this data or insight?
Amid the endless sea of market data investors could theoretically access, insider transactions stand out as one of the strongest, most reliable signals available. Because corporate insiders operate with a distinct information asymmetry – possessing a deep, operational edge over the rest of the market – their actions carry immense fundamental weight.
Crucially, insider purchases possess significantly higher signaling power than insider sales. While an executive might sell shares for a myriad of personal or structural reasons entirely unrelated to the business’s health – such as tax planning, diversification, or buying a home – they generally only buy their own stock for one reason: they believe the current price undervalues the company and that the shares will go up.
Met a young woman from London
Who just moved to the bay and she is a psychologist
Since she landed in SF she went to a few startup events and and was mesmerized, she asked me if someone who is a psychologist could be useful in a startup
My guess yes, she has people skills that are useful in any people facing role.
DM if you want to take a bet on someone young, hungry and who sees the world from a people lens first.

This is the time of year when a lot of investment firms welcome interns. While our work is geared toward institutional investors, a lot of it can be useful for learning about markets and the investment process. Here are a handful of reports and how they can guide interns:
We’ve shipped a security-guidance plugin for Claude Code that helps identify and fix vulnerabilities as you’re writing code.
Available for all Claude Code users. Install from the plugin marketplace (/plugins).
@BusinessInsider published the story today.
I joined VC for a green card. No computer growing up in rural Romania. NASA contest at 18, first plane ride of my life. Three jobs through two CS degrees in Germany. More visas than I can count. Craigslist room next to Sergey Brin. Beat-down Kia Rio. That was my start.
I dreamed of getting back to San Francisco from the moment I landed here at 18. I worked until I got here.
If immigration has you feeling stuck inside a big company right now, the other side exists.
@MotiveForce Force is a pre-seed and seed firm for founders who build before anyone asks. That's who I'm looking for.
Thank you @meliarobin for capturing this. And to everyone who has supported me chasing this dream. I don't take it lightly. The people who came before me in my family didn't have the luxury to dream. They fought for survival. I got to change that narrative.

Instead of gating powerful cyber capable models we should put them in the hands of open source developers so they can create open harnesses to scan for vulnerabilities and supply chain attacks + defend against them at the source.
Gated intelligence creates weaker cyber defense.
The alignment problem is an illusion hallucinated by "rationalists" huffing too much glue while watching 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The real problem is and always was "the verification problem."
Today's 7investing Live was all about How to Find 10-Bagger Stocks in 2026.
I introduced three innovative markets where I believe investors will find the next wave of 10-bagger opportunities that will compound your returns by an order of magnitude:
- Quantum Computing
- AI Agents
- On-Demand Power
Within each of those markets, I then shared one stock idea of a company who is displaying at least one of my three predictors of becoming a 10-bagger.
What do you think of my three recommendations?
Which stocks did I miss or overlook?
Where do you think the next 10-baggers will be found?

Disclosure doesn’t always mean transparency.
Companies can meet regulatory requirements, yet still leave investors without clear, accessible information.
That gap matters.
True transparency goes beyond compliance.
